when i was in 5th grade (7 years ago), my class had an spiritual experience with God. i went to a christian school at the time. in the morning we were doing our usual routine.. pledge allegiance to the flags.. and sing songs of praise. this morning was different and i remember we were singing a song titled "white as snow". during this song, tears were starting to flow from my eyes and practically everyone else in my class. my friend anthony was speaking through the holy spirit, convicting us of our sins. we were all crying the whole morning. i did not realize what was fully taking place til much later because i was raised a catholic, but went to church a few times every 5 months with my family. and on that very same day, i believe that i received the holy ghost. people laid hands on me and i just started uttering something.. i couldn't control my tongue but it was like i was speaking some asian language.. and still, i had no absolute idea what was taking place.

one other encounter i had with God was earlier this year at a revival conference in san diego. almost everyone was at the alter, and i remember praying to God that i wanted to feel something. after that i started to bawl and i still kept praying and praising Jesus.. i felt His amazing love in that place.. the best feeling ever. i had a revival of the Holy Spirit that night and a newfound peace.. something that still is with me after i pray to Jesus. it finally clicked in my mind that night that Jesus is with me, and He always will be.

He is truly wonderful.

Alcohol and mineral spirits. I used to clean my paint brush with mineral spirits and when I got off work I would chase down all the dust with alcohol spirits. Now that I am an atheist I don't drink anymore or do all the lousy things I did when I believed in a non-existant god. Keep believing in weird experiences and be sure to put that on your resume'. I am sure a potential job search would be happy to hear about your out of the world experience. Maybe it would qualify you for a job as a air traffic controller. You can tell them a spirit was passing by and you took your eyes off the screen before the plane crashed. I am sure that will be a time to share your "spiritual experience". Oh, the above post about the Mother Theresa thing. She was truly a wonderful person. For you to feel spirituality is over stating your omnipotence as a human that is supposed to do things like helping others. We are not better because we pat ourselves on the back for doing what we are supposed to do. It is what makes us real human beings not spiritual phoney stuff that have done nothing but stir superstition and ignorance and is why people in poor countries can't progress. People think god will do it all for them so they need help that they don't get from any god; they get help from another lousy human with a good heart.

Yes I have felt the same thing a few times.

Just two Fridays ago, my son slept over the day care that night, so I was alone, prayed before bed as usual. I had a hard time waking up completely to see, but I knew what was going on.
I felt two gentle hands on my back as I am sleeping on the couch. These hands rolled me over on my side, and I felt her laid down cuddling up next to me as she was giving comfort, and her hands rubbing my back. I say her .....because she still comes to me my spirit guide-angel..... she knows the times my spirit feels hurt.

im not sure f his was spiritual, but it felt like it to me!
when my son was very small, around,6 or 7, he was playing on the side of a pourch, and it was constructed of cinder blocks!
somehow they all came down on top of him, i ran out, and he was hurt, called an ambulance, and took him to the er!
they did tests, x-rays, etc, he was fine, just a lot of scratches, and a lot of bruseing, thank god!
after getting him home, and settled, we were talking, and he said "mommy, i was ok, dont cry! a man that had all white on, and white hair, and a beard came and took all the blocks off of me!i wasn't hurt! well, needless to say, i started to cry even more, and i just knew a wonderfult thing had happened! someone was truly watching over my son, and made sure he was ok!, and i know that my son seen what i could not! in the eyes of a child! i do believe it was jesus he saw, and who helped him!

Was teaching someone once in their back porch. Didn't want to go inside because it was a single lady. So we prayed that it wouldn't rain. Literally right when we stepped outside of her gate it started raining.

I've had many unexplainable experiences. Too numerous to mention.

Yes, I have had a spiritual experience, but I don't care to share it right now. It only draws criticism. Knowing it occurred is enough for me, and God did verify it to me 10 years later.

This was a reoccuring thing I experienced when I was a child, and into adulthood. It was as I came to understand a " spiritual experience. "

When I was a child, I was terrified of it. My family at the time would complain that I was having nightmares. They manifested in my dreams. They were still there when I woke up. Eventually, I knew when it would come and wouldn't go to sleep, for I felt it coming. I link it into some experiences that I had of a creature that wasn't human that wanted a place to stay. I was a kid of about 7 or 8 . I had no spiritual experience, Christianity I didn't understand. A church was a place with nice people and a place that my " Father " would go to when we needed money or food. The thing was red and looked weak. It pleaded with me to let it stay with me. I didn't want to really but it already was imposing. Later it would bring others, though I never remember any of them leaving. It was later that I had these feelings. They, as I said, terrified me. My grandmother said that she came into the room and saw me bucking like a bronco.
My Grandparents were taking care of me and my two brothers and my sister in Arizona by that time. I walked into my grandparents room late one night and told them,
" I hear a sound in my ears and it wont go away. "
This is the best description that I can come up with pertaining to that sound/ feeling at this time:
It started when, simultaneously I felt hot and thick, like my head was miles thick, and my fingers felt as thick as a tree trunk, a repetitive sound came to my ears. My mind thought that something was coming, and whatever was coming, it wasn't good. I could feel each breath I took as though it was volumes of hot air, escaping my nose. It bothered me, so I opened my mouth to breathe. I felt shaky because I didn't understand what was going on, and neither did anyone else. I'm still not sure either. I felt aware of the whole room, but at the same time I felt I was alone. If there was any other noise in or out of the house, it was part of the rythym in my head. I began to imagine dominoes falling one right after the other. One would hit another it would hit another, then another, then another, and the last domino I couldn't see, but I knew I didn't want the last domino to fall.
So the feeling/ sound would recede after a time, I was sweating, shaken and exhausted.
The perception that I can now say was that I was being attacked. I could get up and walk, even talk, aware of the things around me, their meanings and values not changed, I knew who I was, who everyone else was and could call them by name, but my perception was dulled yet sharpened. A paradox I know, but I didn't know that word then.
Here's the last of those things. The night I was saved something incredible happened. My spiritual awakening was very noticable. The feeling/ sound came again just after the Sinners Prayer. I was 24. And nothing I can tell you in the context of where I was and what I just had done could explain what followed; because the Spirit of God came upon me and chased it away. I was also struck by the ability to speak in tongues. But I resisted because my sister in law was just outside the bedroom door and I knew that she could hear me if I did. She would think that I was crazy and I didn't even know what speaking in tongues was. Minutes later I felt the feeling/ sound coming again. I prayed, laying down to sleep by that point, for God to take it away from me if it was not from him. The feeling/ sound came again and God's Spirit took it away again. The feeling/ sound has not returned since.

I WAS ONCE APPROACHED BY A YOUNG MAN WHO WAS A COMPLETE STRANGER TO ME. HE HANDED ME A $20 BILL, SHOOK MY HAND WARMLY, SAID "GOD BLESS YOU," AND WALKED AWAY. I WAS DECENTLY DRESSED AND DID NOT BEHAVE IN ANY MANNER WHICH COULD HAVE COMMUNICATED MY NEED, BUT ON THAT DAY I WAS IN URGENT NEED OF MONEY. HIS UNSOLICITED KINDNESS WAS, TO ME, A GIFT FROM GOD.
