We've stopped placing the needs of others before our own. Christian, Muslim, Athiest, Agnostic, doesn't matter...we're all people and face problems and struggles that many others have faced, but we all turn a blind eye to those people instead of lending our compassion.
Basically, the world is becoming a crappy place to live because outside of our immediate circle of friends/family, we do little to help anyone else.
That's not to discount all of the people and groups who are out there trying to make things better, but the sooner we realize that it's our own fault for making this bed we're sleeping in, the sooner things will start to change.

Overpopulation-hands down.If we figured out how to make energy from air,if all the religions united.If global warming stopped in its tracks.If nukes were all destroyed.The population is growing exponentially,in a generation there will be 12 billion people.In 2 generations,24 billion.If we don't get serious worldwide,with a quickness,Entire continents will Make Darfur seem like the good old days.
