Do you know that 100% of your soul belongs to your Creator to do with as He
sees fit?
Since that same Creator also created the
dna of other animal species, it does not surprize me very much. Interestingly, the
placement and operation of our internal organs are more compatible with canines
than with monkeys, or so says national
geographic.
As a Christian, and NOT a scientist, I will leave the facinating studies of the Sciences up to our Worlds dedicated Scientists; I
believe that any find or new information is a wonderful revelation, and celebrate it.
There is no controversy between the truth of Gods Word and true Sciences. None.
Only lots of unlearned people with very large
mouths and nothing better to do with their
time.
Christ will be here for 1000 years in a time
of teaching, so you will have plenty of time
to ask him.

That leaves at least 250 protein-coding genes. Quite enough to provide loads of difference.

I don't think your numbers are right, but regardless, it isn't the quantity of genetic material that matters, but specific sequences that demonstrate our close relationship to apes.
If we applied the same standards to ourselves as we do other species, humans and chimps would be considered subspecies of the same species.

That can't really be disputed... it's an observable fact (i.e. supportable with empirical evidence, both qualitative and quantitative) that approximately 99% of our DNA is identical to monkeys.
About 98% is identical to a Banana.
