I once heard a Catholic say that nuns wanted to stay virgins because they were "saving themselves for Jesus". I'm fairly certain that the person was nuts and that this statement was a product of their diseased mind. However, if this is actually the belief of some nuns, would all the celibate priests be "saving themselves" for the same reason?

As Christians we are to emulate Jesus Christ. The word, "Christian" means little christs, or like Christ... So we believe that Jesus Christ was celibate.
It the Bible it says that some have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom. At the time of Christ some of the most God-fearing people were the Essenes who renounced marriage for the kingdom. St Paul also never married. Are we to believe that they were all crazy? Or that somehow remaining celibate was not an honorable sacrifice for these people?

Yeah, well, a lot of termilogy involved with the "love for Jesus" leads me to believe that Heaven is some sort of orgy involving the beloved messiah...

eh... I'm pretty sure it's a metaphor. In the Bible, Christ's church is referred to as His bride, so in that way certain Christians stay celibate out of their "marriage" to Christ.

Sex is used to reproduce ourselves, In heaven there is no need we will be like the Angles. There is neither marriage nor giving in marriage. Paul said he wished everyone would be as he was that is if you are able but if you cannot it is better to marry than to burn. Hope that this helps.
