I am really poor right, like I live on $400 a month, so really, really poor, yet poverty is not my question.

I want to join ISKCON otherwise known as the Hare Krishna's.

I dont want to be the guy who gives them everything I own, I just want to join there community, run around in a bright orange robe, and try and sell you books, then sleep in thier compounds.

Anyone know how I can become a hare krishna monk?

There was a problem with ISKCON not long ago, corruption, stealing large amounts of money, leaders going to jail and being deposed from their positions. The infighting among the hare krishnas in ISKCON is just abhorent. I hung out there with a friend of mine for a while (Im jewish, didn't want to convert to the Krishnas, was just there for my friend), and I had to leave because the hatred and fighting among them was just too much.

Anyway, that was my experience with them, so if I were you I'd go verrrry slowly and check everything out thoroughly before deciding to join.

Why do you want to join the Hare Krishnas? If you are thinknig that maybe joining a spiritual group will perhaps take you out of poverty, it will not. Instead try doing something that interests you, upgrade your education and get a good paying job. Get involved with volunteer organizations/ Beware of the Krishnas

They require new members to go through a period of probation because they found that a lot of people just can't seem to handle living the way they live.

Find a large cliff, jump off it, and try it in another life.
And if you'll believe THAT, send me your money instead.

Suicide would be a better use of your life. Not that I'm recommending it, either.

Get a job.
