It depends on 2 factors:
1) What colour light is shone into them (a red light through a clear crystal will be red)
2) What colour crystal it is (a clear (white) light shone through a red crystal will be red)
The light shone through will be the colour of the crystal so if you know the colour of the crystal then you have the light. I'm not sure if there was a 'spiritual' aspect to this that I'm missing (because this is the religion and spirituality section) but that's what I know of it.
If you’re after a list of the colours of crystals then check google or ask.com for a more comprehensive answer.

I suspect what your looking at is the use of crystals in healing. They are considered to have energy fields - auras - and these different energies can be used to balance/enhance our own body's energies. They are also involved in Chakrology, which is part of Hinduism, and now a part of Alternative Medicine, New Age interpretation, and Western occultism
To bring it all down to a practical level you can buy filters in violet/purple, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, pink, magenta, and turquoise.
So it can precipitate you into the occult - not a good scene.

Crystals bend light and form prisms. They generally appear in the same form as a rainbow would, roygbiv, well they kind of got rid of the i, indigo, because lets face it, its just purple or violet and hard to tell between the 2.

crystals defract light and work like a cluster of prisms everyone of them giving the whole spectrum of visible light i.e the rainbow coloures, interfering, make a crystal like a source of myriad light's rays.
p.s.scientifically speaking,crystals DON"T EMIT light,they REFLECT light

Crystals don't emit light. They bend it and may act as filters absorbing light selectively.
