I read other people answers, and I see "atheists are dumb". Well reading so much is not like throwing buckets of water from the Eiffel tower you know? Even for someone that doesn´t have much memory, there is a lot of info that gets stuck.

On the contrary, how is it that the study of only one book and its interpretations (biblebiblebiblebible....) makes a better only source?
Please don´t say god wrote it, please don´t write verses.
I´m so tired of verses I could ask your devil if he wants to buy my soul... lol

It is quite simple actually ...... there are people who are insecure, therefore to fight off this insecurity, they tried various methods.

1. They could call others names, therefore boosting their ego.

2. They could insist other people to join their group therefore having the mentality "If I am wrong and found stupid, at least there are people who are equally stupid"

3. They could hurl well ..... not so nice language with intimidation.

4. These people could read back part of their security blanket as their proof of their own belief, even though it is out of context. Interestingly, when the opposition does the same, they claim the opposition read it out of context. When being pointed out as they are doing the same thing, their answers is more othe then not "It is different, for your case, it is out of context. For my case, god tell me this is the right verse". (or something to that effect) Notice "god tell me ...." part, they are trying to shift the responsibility of their action to imaginative creature so when they are wrong they can blame their imaginative creature or worse still, they will claim you are wrong because their imagainative creature is perfect.

-------

Shaoit .... you claim to have read 300 book in a year, some books are a few hundred pages long, meaning if you take 1 minute to read 1 page, for a 600 page book, you will need 10 hours. Therefore for 365 days, you have read on an average 0.9 book a day......

That is definitely impressive ...... I am a vivid reader myself, I normally take a week or so to finish a 600 pages book, in 4 different languages. I wonder how much you had absorb from the books, or are you just scrimping for the part you like.

We all have our own reality and to say anothers reality is wrong is well.....wrong. No matter how many books a person reads change will not occur unless a person is looking to change. Memory alone is not the all inclusive answer. Information that makes it to your subconscious and to your spirit is what is required. It is then no longer info, but is now a part of you. It is you. One book; it is safe to say will make a person imbalanced and biased. The more books, the better. A better chance at being a more rounded individual. A better educated individual. An unbiased individual. Reading is not for rotes sake, but for our balanced sake. For our true freedom and expression, quotes are useless. Pearls of wisdom that befit the moment and affect change are beyond worth. We simply cannot hang onto dogged beliefs and lose our humanity enmasse. Tradition is out with the dishwater. It is fallacy and comfort for the status quo. Truth is not meant to make one comfortable. Truth is meant to set one free. Lies on the other hand are for comfort and tradition even if it means living a lie.

Atheists are dumb is a dumb answer to anything. A person though can be very smart and still say something dumb, religious or atheist.

Why do you assume that a religious person is only reading the Bible???? Arent you kind of doing to christians what you just complained about them doing to you? You seem to be making a point that religious people are dumb for only reading the bible which first makes the assumption that the Bible is dumb and makes the assumption that is all they are reading.

Maybe you should look at your motives before you question others!

Last year I read over 300 books. I've read the Qur'an, I've read Dawkins, Harris, Armstrong, Voltaire, Thomas Paine.... And of course many others like William Penn, Roger Williams, William Bradford, John Winthrop, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, John C. Calhoun, Lincoln, Stephen A Douglas. Oh that poet.... whats his name.... Shaw? Mark Twain. Leo Tolstoy. C.S. Lewis.

What makes you think I only read the Bible? By the way I read it in its original language too.

So what exactly makes you think I fear looking into other people's arguments? Thats all I do.

I have heard Atheists accuse ALL Christians of being closed minded morons far more then I've heard Christians saying that Atheists are stupid. Their charge is usually fear, apathy and arrogance. Neither is true of ALL Christians or ALL Atheists.

And what makes you assume that all Christians are limited to the study of the Bible when it comes to their faith? We are not all victims of "cross-every-t-dot-every-i" biblical absolution-ism. Not all of us are clones of Jerry Faldwell.

memorizing doesn't = a genius and either does being able to refer to a million different books.. however.. everyone is entitled to their opinions and the only stupid thing i see here is the inability of human being unable to settle with a simple "agree to disagree"

No belief is stupid.... and until you've died and seen it all i really don't care what you say is right and wrong...

believe what you will.. i'll let you be and i hope for the same in return
