Religion is not merely about faith. Religion is the means by which we connect with some kind of greater purpose. In Christianity, it is redemption. In Hinduism it is enlightenment. In Buddhism it is awakening. Atheism does not really have a spiritual purpose, any kind of rituals or devotions, and their creeds are lacking and disorganized. So it is a religious conviction or choice, but not a traditional religion.

Absolutely not, faith and religion aren't inextricably bound. I have faith that there is no god, I have faith that if I go to bed in my house I'm not going to wake up in Bermuda. These aren't religious beliefs.
Atheism literally means without Theism, without god. If anything it's a rejection of religion. It's become a very common argument to suggest that atheists can't really criticise religion on the suggestion that disbelief in god is in fact a belief. Blatantly, this isn't the case.

I don't need faith to know that God was created by ancient religion. Studying the History of Civilization will provide the proof. Faith is only invoked when there is no proof.

Atheism can't be considered a religion. It is simply a position that a person takes on the issue of the credibility of the often conflicting claims of science (empiricism) and religion (metaphysics).

Atheism is a religion the same way not collecting stamps is a hobby.

Alternatively - if you are christian, then you do not believe in hinduism or buddhism or judaism or islam or zoroastianism or bahai or rastarfaria or vodou, etc. Atheists just believe in one less religion than you do.

No, atheism is not a religion. Religion is defined as pure faith without any evidence. Atheist beliefs are supported by scientific evidence, thus not a religion.

Religion presupposes the adorance of a God, we don't believe in Gods, so it's not a religion! It's an attidude, an opinion.

That's like asking if an empty cup is considered a beverage.
I'm atheist and I consider myself as having no religion.
