your belief in God is PERSONAL journey to enlightenment.
you have searched and studied religion, thus I presume you have come to the same conclusionas I, that they all lie, they all offer false doctrine, that their path to God is scattered with blood and deciet. you sound like a sensible lady, use your intelligence and come to the conclusion that if you love your God, he will love you back, there is no need for the, Middle Man, as it were. Take your conscience to a higher level, leave religion to the sheep. in short if you believe in your God, he will believe in you! follow your own path!

Every religion has got some truth in it. If we all knew which religion was the real, true religion we would all be following it - but then that wouldn't be a religion.

A religion takes faith - even when all "evidence" seems to counter-act it, you still believe it. That is a true religion. Now we as Humans, in general, tend to be very curious - we love experimenting. If it wasn't for that curiosity, we wouldn't have the Internet for example. Now, I don't care what anyone says - but there has to be a religion that is right. Simply because evidence doesn't match up with it doesn't make the religion wrong. The world is too complex to just "start" for no purpose. It would be too cruel if us Humans were just here for nothing - just to stay in the grave and wait for nothing. But having faith simply brings the chance of afterlife. Even since the time of the Mayans, people have always believed there is someone superior. Now, I am not blaming those who are scientists, but if even Albert Einstein can believe, then who can't. Sure, there are some fallacies in religion, but there is more truth then fallacy.

Simply denying religion just puts all the hard work of the scholars to
keep Holy books to waste. Whatever religion you believe you should follow, then do so. Faith shall keep you strong in the religion you decide to follow.

Hey Hun I've had the same thoughts and I feel like this; Love - the real broad definition, from the dirt to the sky and everything between. Love is respecting one and other along with the world we are in. Gods message to me is ultimatley of love of kindness, that is sposed to be the way and it seems the message is not to question it. All the different religions judge eachother and shouldnt. The Bible is a good book you should go by it and not them. {the religions} Be kind, preach, & teach kind. Reach for it and find God is about your heart not being blind. I say be open minded check em all out if for nothing more than knowledge...keep yourself true and pure to being morally just and you'll find God is in you . P.S. I would be Morman if visa versa and I could have multiple hubbies -one to cook one to clean!! Smile and nod just give to God!

Like most other answers, I believe the key is in study. It isn't a matter of FEELINGS, but of what you can resolve using your brain.

The very fact that so many religions fight each other and murder in the name of a GOD demonstrate the inexistance of God. A god requiring murder is not powerful, not just, not fair and not better than a human. What is more important, if a god created us, who created god? a higher god?

Note that the bible (both old and new testament) is written by humans at different moments in time, with all the contraddictions and mistakes (grammatical, textual, and contextual) that this implies - and that contains just as many calls to murder and to violence as the coran and other "sacred" texts.

Stop listening to other people. Search for yourself. Do research on the religions you have interest in. Compare them against each other. Listen to YOURSELF, your soul, spirit, heart, conscience, or whatever you call that still, small voice inside of you. The only opinion that matters is your own, because it is that opinion that will make all the difference in eternity.
I did the same thing. I shut out everything that I "knew" from my childhood and focused on what my heart told me. I am fully confident in my faith and satisfied that I made my own choice, not the choice of my parents, spouse, etc.

Decide for yourself:
1) Do you believe that some form of God exists?
2) If God does exist, what is his nature (monotheistic, polytheistic, pantheistic, etc...)? If not, you're an Atheist and the rest of this is meaningless to you--you have your answer.
3) What basic attributes do you assign to God (personality traits, likes and dislikes, etc...)

After you have come to your own conclusions on these points, start looking at different religions and decide which one best lines up with your personal understanding of God. This is a decision that you have to make for yourself.

There is no such thing as One God or One Truth...
Most people are often just born and raised into their religion and put their faith in it without a second thought. For those of you unhappy with the Religion others have chosen for you I'd advise turning Agnostic or Atheist and developing your own beliefs systems to suit your way of life and needs....

There is no true religion. Only the Bible is true. As a born again Christian, I only believe the word of God from the Holy Bible 1611 (KJV). Many Christians are out there witnessing the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and trying to win souls for Jesus by getting people to repent by salvation through Jesus Christ. I am an ex catholic and became born again (saved) a year ago. Jesus is the only way and the only truth. Here is a wbsite that might help.

You must believe what Jesus said, not just in the bible, read the gnostic gospels as well. Don't try to understand everything. Look for the central message in what He said. That is the starting point. Once you feel you know what the central message was, seek to understand it fully and look for ways to apply it in your own life. If it leads to loving God or our neighbors as ourselves then you are on the right track.

Study the religions, read their Holy Books and ask God to guide you. He will show you the correct way. All you out there who say there is no God just prove the Bible correct, because it told us there that you would be around.
