And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air

so where does the bible say birds come from?
Is it out of the water or out of the ground?

Whoever wrote Genesis believed there was a dome of water above the [flat] earth.

I find that the old english of the King James is very confusing. The verse you are refering to is Gen. 1: 20 and says from my Bible - "And God went on to say: “Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls and let flying creatures fly over the earth upon the face of the expanse of the heavens."
Gen. 1: 22 - "With that God blessed them, saying: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the waters in the sea basins, and let the flying creatures become many in the earth.”
So it really doesn't say one way or the other, just that they were created.

You're misquoting. Check it again.

EDIT:
20 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. - NIV

20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. - NKJV

20 God said, "I command the ocean to be full of living creatures, and I command birds to fly above the earth." 21So God made the giant sea monsters and all the living creatures that swim in the ocean. He also made every kind of bird. God looked at what he had done, and it was good. - CEV

See, you're misquoting. The Bible does not mention where the birds came from.

Pst: it's "allegory" and "mystery".
Allegory for "firmament" = "Heaven".
So firmament of heaven = Heaven of heaven.
Come on, it's now AD-->only goes one way;
And twice fallen requires twice risen with C.

God said: let there be light(only)...
and there was grace(understaning) only in the end:

The GRACE of our Lord J-->C with you-->all. Amen.

Throw the bible out the window you don't need it to believe or follow God .Use your energy in preparation to meet God and hopefully he will find you in his favour.
