They are lead by false wisdom. They believe in themselves and the power of men, and they believe to think otherwise is foolish. They are believers in what can be touched, seen and experienced. They reject faith because it does not suit their needs and their "inquiring" minds. They claim that this is their strength, but the reality is, their minds lead them to destruction.
They reject God because they love themselves too much.

First, you have to define the term "God." The problem with most theists is that this term is a moving target.
In addition, because there is no evidence either for or against the existence of God, you cannot use deductive logic (a+b=c; therefore c-b=a). You can only reach a conclusion by inductive reasoning using the balance of evidence (90% of A is also B; C is B, so the chances are 90% that C is also A).
So to begin with, I will assert (and others may shoot this down) that the only RELEVANT definition of God states that GOD INTERVENES TO CIRCUMVENT NATURAL LAWS.
If God circumvents natural laws, then it becomes impossible to understand natural laws. All scientific findings would have to include the stipulation, "It is also possible that these results are an act of God, a miracle, thereby making our research meaningless."
However, we have been able to expand our knowledge of natural laws (evidenced by every appliance in your kitchen). Therefore, because the scientific method leads to applicable discoveries, and the likely conclusion is that God, at least the intervening kind, does not exist.
Additionally, if God is defined as all loving, all powerful, and all knowing, then it is impossible to explain suffering. Either God is not all loving (he acts sadistically), not all powerful (he cannot prevent suffering), or not all knowing (he created suffering by mistake because he didn't know the consequences of his actions). A God who is not all-loving, all-powerful or all-knowing is also not sufficient for the definition of God, because any God that fails to meet these criteria becomes bound by rules that are greater than God.
If God is bound by external rules and/or does not intervene in our existence, then God is either non-existent or irrelevant. The classic Bertrand Russell argument is that I cannot prove that a china teapot is orbiting the sun between the earth's orbit and Mars. But while I cannot prove this is not true, the evidence against it is compelling.
The evidence against God is equally compelling, and while it is not possible to prove beyond any doubt, it makes enormously more sense to live your life as if there were no God.
It is more compelling to me that humans have invented God (a) to help people deal with the pain and fear associated with death and loss, and (b) to reflect the thoughts of the ruling powers in a particular time. Humans are always searching for explanations. When none were found, it was the natural inclination to declare that the cause of the unexplained was "God" (or gods). As the faith grew, miracles (coincidences) and laws were ascribed to this Divinity, and an orthodoxy grew up around it.
Now it seems unhelpful to believe in such superstition. The only matters that aid in our ongoing well-being are work, location, health, sustenance, and pure, blind luck.
So no, I am an atheist. And it's alright for others not to be atheists, too. Just be able to say why.

I, for one, don't believe in any thing that is not of the natural world. Anything supernatural is just plain superstition, to me. If it can't be sensibly explained without bringing in magic wands, almighty gods, hokus-pokus, it just never happened.
Gods were the answer for primitive people who had no understanding of the forces of nature. Thunder and lightning had to be made by the gods ( now we know better ). All of life depended on the sun, so the sun had to be a god, ( now we know better )
The fear of death, and the desire to live forever is a powerful force, so a way was invented, ( Atheists know better ).

Because there seems to be a glaring and painful difference between what every religion preaches - and what every religion practices. While, at the heart of most religions, there is tolerance, love and human betterment what is practiced when these beliefs come into contact with groups of humans is exclusivity, judgement and hatred.
To sum it up: The paradox of religion is that it the single largest cause of violent death on the planet.

Because that is how all humans are born. It is only the weak and superstitious who at some point, for some unfathomable reason, start believing in invisible flying beings.

I believe Atheists are Atheists because of what they have been taught and read and believe
no-one is born knowing everything, so they must be taught~
I believe that the college professors tore down their faith and filled their minds with what the devil did to Eve in the garden and questioned what God said and because they were not grounded in the Word and God, they were shaken and accepted by teaching and intimidation to accept the evolution and socialistic doctrine of their professors and they were also forced to read Ayn Rands teaching and other socialistic and so called scientific teachings, many were deceived by all of it because their minds were opened to learn;
they were taught the same way anyone else is taught anything they believe now
It makes me feel sad because we love them and God loves them and would that they would come to the knowledge of the truth

i think i have to answer this sort of questions daily.
I'm an atheist because my logic tells me that there's no god, there can't be a god, the whole god thing is too contradictory, and there's no proof, so if i believe in god, then I'd have to believe in all the gods of all faith, all the mythological creatures and all the fairy tales. now u obviously don't believe in all of them, do u? u have a reason for it, and that's the same reason i don't believe in a god.

For the same reason I dont believe in the boogie man, easter bunnie, tooth fairy or santa clause. I prefer scientific data, facts of nature, common sense and logic to a bloody bed time story.

There is no evidence to backup any claim of deity(s) by any religion. In many cases, there is ample evidence that shows that the stories told by the various religions are blatantly false.
No evidence and false claims equals no belief.

It's simply a matter of how we "see" things.
Believers see Faith as Fact; non-Believers do not.
Believers see their Beliefs as Truth; (some) non-Believers do not.
Believers see little or no difference between Religion, and Spirituality; (some) non-Believers see enormous differences.
Believers see little or no difference between Ego (Soul), and Spirit; (some) non-believers do.
Believers see little or no difference between Sex, and Making Love; (some) non-Believers do.
Most importantly, ALL Believers see no difference between their God, and the True God; (some) non-Believers do.
Need I continue?

Wouldn't you rather hear from atheists?
It doesn't make any sense to ask someone who is openly against atheism why people choose atheism....unless you are specifically looking for biased answers?
