The answer to this depends on your definition of Christian. Do you believe in a God that is so large He fills the universe, yet so small he can dwell in your heart? Do you believe that God is a trinity, three persons, one substance? (If so, what did Christ do with His glorified body when He ascended to Heaven?) Do you believe that the canon of scripture is closed and God has nothing more to say to human beings? That there will be no more Prophets and Aposles and the Heavens are closed to revelation? Do you think you have to believe all that in order to be classed as a Christian? If that is so, then to you Mormons are not Christians.
And, do you believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and it is only through His grace and His holy blood that we are saved? Do you believe that He is the Son of God, YHWH (as he said he was, "Before Abraham was, I AM" the God of the Old Testament, the creator of the earth and the Universe under the direction of His Father. Came to earth born to the virgin Mary, Both God and Man, to die for mankind, and rose again, victorious on the third day? That it is only through Jesus Christ and accepting Him as your Personal Savior that you can be saved? Mormons believe this too. If this is your definition of Christian, you might believe that Mormons are Christians too.

Yes, we are Christians! His name is in the title our church carries!
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints
And, no, we are not a cult!
But we do have our own little group of Mormon bashers! Personally, I think that THEY are a cult, and should unite, and be one, unto their own god! And that would be the God of arrogance!
The simple fact, that they believe they have the right to judge anyone else for their beliefs, amazes me every time I see one of their brain dead questions!
And people, you can tell the difference between curiosity, and persecution! Know them by their works? You can see their works every time they slam us!
Read our info, at lds.org! And find out for yourself if we are a cult, or a religion!
Thanks for asking!

Not in the literal sense. You know, Buddhists and Catholics aren't the same (for example). Christianity and Mormonism are two different religions. Some aspects of them may be the same, but they're two different ideologies.

Since we are The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints, then I guess we are Christian. Not traditional, mainstream, orthodox Christian, but Christian all the same.

I am an impartial Spirit of Truth-led Jesusonian Christian Theologian and Evangelist for over thirty years to date; I have shared with many hundreds of thousands of persons.
Mormons (LDS) are fully Christians ! They love and follow the continuing Teachings of Jesus Christ here in Spirit. They know and teach the great Truth that Jesus Christ is BOTH GOD the FATHER and GOD the SON ! (to us of all faiths !)
Jesus Christ here in Spirit tells us:
"He Who sees Me sees Him Who sent Me."
"The FATHER and I ARE ONE."
"Before Abraham was; I AM"
"I AM the Light of the world and our universe."
"Be One in Spirit in Me in the Father."
ALL sincere, God-led Mormons and Protestants and Catholics and Jesusonians and others fully believe these SAME TRUTHS ! Thus we are now uniting in Godly Pro-Life and Pro-Light GODLY GOALS HERE ! Conservative morality will win ! The normal nuclear Family-Marriage-Home will be strengthened ! (AIDS is helping; worldwide increasing fundamentalism in all religions is helping too)
Notice how LDS humans in Salt Lake City live about ten years longer than the average human in the USA ! Why? Because they are Godly, moral Christians ! Our Brothers and Sisters in Jesus ! Most sexual deviants (different types) only live to about age 38 -- about 1/2 the average age of 77, and the LDS live to about 87. Count the cost.
Shame on any Christian who dares to violate Jesus' Law to "Love your enemies" and to even especially love all Christians of all types ! Jesus Christ is here now (John 16:7-16) in Spirit; and He is calling all of us into greater spiritual UNITY, not merely intellectual UNIFORMITY !
Only a Jesus United Christianity of 2.5 billion Christians can slowly and lovingly convert the rest of the world to 7 billion all Christians here soon. Catholics and Jesusonians and Mormons and Protestants should unite in spiritual GOALS (Conversion, morality, etc) and not mere CREEDS.
Are you with us in the invisible Brotherhood of Jesus Christ in the Family of God ? Speak up !
Peace and progress,
Brother Dave, a Jesusonian Christian Truthist

Well since xtianity is not technically inherited and is open to anybody- the mormons say they ARE xtians, and that's all it takes.
You people judge eachother so much, then say you don't. Funny!
