Until Christians can accept that their way IS NOT the only right way, and that they DON'T EVEN HAVE THE RIGHT to try and save everyones else from what they perceive......IN THEIR INCREDIBLE ARROGANCE......as error...they will continue to be resented by others who KNOW that there IS NOT, one single right path, and that every path is valid in the eyes of God...EVEN THE PATHES OF THOSE WHO DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD AT ALL! Christians are just as entitled to their beliefs as everyone else, but they have to understand that the rest of us are not wrong in our beliefs, because there is NO path that is wrong. By the same token, No path is completely right either. But, if you have looked for your own truth by seeking within, instead of just believing what some other person has told you that you should believe, then you are following the path that is right for you. You cannot judge the path of another...you do not have that right. You don't have to agree with the beliefs of another, but you do have to respect their right to believe whatever makes the most sense for them. You do not have the right to tell another person that what they believe is wrong, or that not believing what you think they should beleive will send them to hell. This is something that Christians seem to have a really hard time understanding, and this is one of the two main reasons that people of various other belief systems get so upset with Christians. We "Others", do not all agree with each other, but we respect each others right to believe differently. That is why you never see an atheist attacking a pagan or a new ager, or a wiccan, and vice versa! But, Christians do not offer the same consideration and respect. Even when they think they are being nice about it, and polite...the arrogance still comes across....with the attitude that they have to fix our mistake....for our own good! When you finally understand that your way is NOT the only right way, then no one will get upset about what you believe. They will still think it is ridiculous, but they won't get upset at you for believing it.

Yes, I suspect that the reason why you see this defend-attack experience at Yahoo! Answers as mostly due to Christians is because you are getting the brunt of this more polemical style of dialogue from just that, from those, such as Christians, who oppose your world and life view of things.
Don't you oppose theirs, and not just have a different view? I believe that these two perspectives are mutually inclusive in every case. So, aren't you judging their view as well? I hope you see that you are. And is this bad? I don't think so, because we must judge for ourselves these various philosophies of life, in order to see if it fits with what we believe. This is where the blind spot is for many folks that have a view of life that is contrary to another world and life view. Many folks from an opposing view believe that they are somehow neutral and irenic in their postion, even if it is, "...live and let live", "...all roads lead to God", or "...this is my truth, and this is your's". This is sadly an illusion. Even this ultrasubjective and laissez-faire view of life does actively oppose a contrary view just by one's implementation of such a view of this life philosophy to their own. Opposing another's will mean that one must judge the other to be wrong, or at least wrong for them. Once those who have an opposing view see that they are judging, as well as being judged, then they learn to stop playing unaware their unrealistically rigid victimization role and the victim card, as you say Christians have been doing with you. Discriminating others in this light, with good judgement, is quite healthy; rather than harmful.
I hope that this point does help objectify some of what you are experiencing, rather than it all being about a Christian's immaturity with you, as if these two words are synonyms. In other words, believe it or not, while I was reading your question, I was actually substituting the word "Christians" with "secularists"! I thank you for expressing your frustration here with the adversarial nature of your dialogue with us Christians, because now I see that much more clearer that I am not really such a victim, as I wrongfully thought I was at times.
Now, by saying all of this, I'm not excusing anyone's bad manner in their communication skills, which I also find to be coming equally from both Christians and secularists with each other. The difference I'm finding is that Christians have a tendency to be more "nasty nice" and "smug" in their defensiveness, and the secularists being more transparent, but brutal with theirs (i.e., using profanity and slanderous epithets). Which one is better? Well, am I to compare two evils? What good would that do?
In closing, I 'd like to offer my sincerest apologies for us Christians who do exhibit this immature and callous manner, whether it be the former and/or the latter description. Hopefully, all of us can learn to judge aright with much respect for those who oppose us! Right? I hope so.

Wow...talk about not really reading the answers to a lot of these questions...a lot of bitterness.
And yes..sometimes I do see Christian questions that aren't the best...but for the most part...most questions have a mocking tone to them.....
...guess that's the new thing to do...mock God, mock those who believe..
and no..I'm not a "victim". If anything, I am a victor! The war has been fought 2,000 years ago, and I've been given the prize! Can't see no victimhood in that!...Now...as for willing wanting to spurn God...wow..talk about getting set up to be a victim.

Most Christians just live their lives and do not spend all their time attacking people.
On the other hand, there are Christians, especially fundamentalist ones right and left, whose very identity is caught up in condemning .
Antitheists and Anti Catholics and Anti Wccans, etc can only be 'anti"and all that is positive in them seems to be consumed by the negative.

Well, I'm definitely NOT a Christian who attacks others. I respect everyone's beliefs even if they don't mirror mine. Furthermore, I try to be compassionate and understanding of what others are saying. It breaks my heart when I hear that people have been treated cruelly by Christians. That's not they way Christ called us to live. Therefore, to all who have ever been treated this way, I am sincerely sorry.

I as a Christian do not have the power or the authority to judge anybody. But I do believe what I believe and will not back down or cowtow or be ashamed for that belief. All have been given free will, cliche' or not, it is the truth. It's what you choose to do with that freedom that will determine where you spend the afterlife.

My head hurts. Did you know I was catching a cold? I hate colds.
1 - They think they are defending a faith that needs no defense.
2 - Playing victim fuels the belief that because of persecution it means there is truth to the faith based on that persecution.
3 - I don't think that but others like to sit on their high throne and pronounce judgments because they think they are wise and all knowing. There is a difference between explaining beliefs and condemning someone. Some think they are entitled to this somehow.

As a non believer my opinion is this:
Some christians(not all) don't even respect other christian faiths.
Some christians(not all) have no tolerance.
Some christians(not all) are really trying to convince themselves of their own faith by attacking others.
Some christians(not all) are so insecure about their own faith they are shi##ing themselves in case they are wrong.
I respect other peoples faiths but if anyone attacks me or tries to belittle my take on life I will happily shove their opinion where the sun don't shine.

Neither political nor social technological awareness can so it without love. consistent with the tenets of mysticism, love perfects legislations by skill of way of ensouling it with the grace of the spirit. the place there are countless criminal policies without love, there is a lot lawlessness, even though whilst love abides interior the coronary heart, there is gentle want for suggestions and rules. we've tried for hundreds of 1000's of years to manage adult males by skill of implementing rules upon their habit, yet as Solon the Atheneian legislator, so wisely remarked, " approved codes are merely like the internet of the spider, which encaptures small bugs, even though helps the extra appropriate creatures to break by skill of skill of and ruin out." it is the humanity interior guy that have have been given to finally conquer guy's inhumanity to guy.
