John 3:19-20

19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

How can you think God is violent just because he fought for what was right? He fought for what was noble and true. you all fight for whatever you believe in right? that's not a sin. He only fought because He had to, people took advantage of Him. He is love. He fought FOR love.

We all know that the majority of Christians believe homosexuality to be a sin. I'm not here to defend or deny that belief.

What I want to know is this:

If you believe that remarrying after divorce is a sin - because let's face it, is it. It's called adultery - why do you believe that sin is any less serious in the eyes of God?

Another asker's question got me thinking about this. If both are sins, how can divorced and remarried Christians dare to judge gays?

Christians, please answer. Non-believers, please refrain from leaving comments such as "Christians don't recognize their own sin, they only see everyone else's." I want to see how the answers unfold.

the scripture that you use the most when you feel attacked - I know we should have a different scripture depending on the type of temptation but I like to use one for most

Isaiah 54:17
no weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
and this is their vindication from me,"
declares the LORD.

the weapons of the devil will not win with the Lord on my side but I am also reminded that the weapons of the devil are continually made against me and I need to stay alert

Ra is the source of all light and heat on earth. Without Ra, there would be no life. When Ra dies, so will life on the earth. The Christian concept of God, on the other hand, is hooey.

The Papal Encyclical Humanae Vitae of Pope Paul VI [1968] brought the position of the Catholic Church concerning contraceptives, sex and abortions. It maintained that sex outside of marriage is sin and that every sexual act must be open to conception. Hence no abortion or morning after pills. Do you think that this position is too rigid for the modern world where people question everything from agronomy to zoology? Do you think that people have a right to do whatever they want with their bodies without looking at the objective consequences for the human race? Is the Church not acting the 'voice of the defenseless' in your opinion. Please let me hear from you . . .

I've been seeing Raffaela for six months now. I met her in Marseille on a missions trip in February. After talking her into leaving her husband, she has been working at my company for the last 3 months on a work visa.

The only real concern I have is that she doesn't seem too interested in her bible study. I have tried many different things, but they haven't seem to have taken yet. I even tried to have her use a coloring book. She did a fairly decent job with that (didn't always stay in the lines though. ha ha ha)

Well, now I have to introduce her to my parents this weekend, and I'm freaked out. My Mom hates the French anyway, and if my girlfriend isn't a Christian by then I don't know what she is going to do.

Honestly, I can't ask her to marry me unless she shares the same faith I do. How would we have any peace in bringing up our children if we can't walk them along the same path?

Thanks for reading my question, and God Bless you!

As many Christians have been involved in the invention, production, deployment and use of nuclear weapons, would their use be acceptable for the efficient conversion or destruction of other faiths, and non-believers, in non Christian countries?

Would the Christian God approve?

Recent research indicates that the happiest people are religious and spend great amounts of "family time" together. Irregardless of all the arguments for or against proof of the existance of God, doesn't this prove that God is "good for us"?

I'm kind of going through a tough 2-3 years. Hadn't had a good job, no real potential relationships, and can't find good friends. Now some people I talk to believe that it has to be me and something I'm doing wrong. I have looked over situations and I don't see how that is possible. I have been thinking of moving for the past few years do you think this is why I haven't had such good luck in anything. I did have an amazing job with a great part time job, lots of friends, and an amazing dates/boyfriend-then I lost both jobs (budget cuts/closing) and everything went after that. I was thinking about moving to tennessee then on tv that's all i heard about and the first person i met at my school was from tennessee...now i'm not thinking of moving there but charlotte, north carolina (cuz there is family)...Anyways I also have been finding pennies everywhere since my great grandmother died...do you think this is coincidence or really a sign that i should move? whats with the pennies?

I find almost everything difficult to accept as truth without evidence or logic. What is it about religion that allows you to accept it on faith alone?

After watching my friend of 16 years die of cancer about 1 1/2 years ago at 38 years of age I find that life just doesn't make sense. I believe we all die when God intends us to die and there's no getting around that. All the talk people have of if only_______ had happened so and so wouldn't be dead to me is ridiculous.
However, since she died I have started to feel like we are just like a bunch of candles, The wind constantly blows and poof we're gone. Currently, I don't find the idea that we're going someplace else comforting. I hate watching CSI or any show that depicts and glorifies death. 80% of the shows we have on TV center around death and finding the "killer". I would like to be joyful again and enjoy life. I can't seem to find my way there. Sometimes I feel like I am just going through the motions.

Based on a subjective belief system today's culture propagates the view that "if it works for me, it's right." However, wouldn't you agree that there is a big difference between what seems to work for the moment and what is in fact "right"? For example: What if cheating on an exam meant the difference between passing of failing; would it be ok to cheat because it works for the moment? What if stealing could make life easier and better; would it be ok to steal? What if lying to someone might avert a big argument; would it be ok to lie? For many of this generation and culture the answer would be yes. But will this approach and thought process work in this real "cause and effect world"? How many of you would say that a subjective belief system is in fact more benifical than a set of solid convictions? How many would say that it would be more benificail to live ones' life based on a set of solid convictions? And why do you believe so?

If he is omnipotent, he is capable of turning evil.

If you are going to say "that would never happen" just save yourself the effort. This is hypothetical.
