Synthetics melt if you leave the iron on too long.
Edit- I just checked the neighbors tag-
it says '98% synthetic'.
(So she must be itchy, too! And cheap.)

Synthetic Christianity
» 7/29/2007 (SUN) » Matthew 22:1-14
Brief Sermon Overview:Have you ever noticed, some 'Christians' will walk miles in heat to listen to God's Word for half a day, while some will not take a twenty minute drive in comfort to sit in a 90 minute, air-conditioned service? Some will cross oceans to tell others of Jesus, and some won't cross the hall of their apartment building. Some will face death for their faith, while others will not face a friend's disapproval. According to one poll, 81 % of adult Americans consider themselves Christians, but fewer than half of them could identify the preacher of The Sermon on the Mount, or name the first 4 books of the New Testament. Do not these statistics, and your own experiences suggest that there are a great many counterfeit Christians in our culture? Is the bulk of American Christianity the real thing? Is it authentic, or synthetic? Is it woven with genuine Lamb's wool, or with polyester? Where is the temporal sacrifice Jesus called His followers to endure? Where is the holiness He required in the lives of His disciples? Do the message and the methods of modern evangelicalism bear some responsibility for the large number of counterfeit Christians? Is your faith authentic or synthetic?

A true Cristian has the spirit of Christ within. By this s/he believes that Christ is God, that he resurrected from the dead and was born of a virgin.
The synthetic Christian believes that s/he is a Christian because they believe in God (and so does Satan), or because they are baptised, go to church, go to Bible study, read the bible, pray, have 'the gifts', or are evangelistic. None of these things, makes a true Christian. I do not know of any percentage; all I can say is that it appears to a large minority of those who profess to be Christian are not.

Their heart is made of synthetic. I heard a comment from a man who said he was a social christian. In other words he is only christian while in public..true? I don't think so. It's a heart issue.

Our relationship with Christ is supposed to be personal.
Christ associated with leppars, prostitutes, liars, criminals and heathens. He did not sit idly by and cast judgement on their lifestyle. He led by example and people were drawn to him for this reason.
Any Christian who tells you "ya gotta watch those ________" and then offers the solution of joining THEIR church...as the only possible path to salvation ~ the label in their shirt will read 100% synthetic.

synthetic- comes from being "born into" a christian family and just accepting the customs....each person needs to make this decision for himself.......
this concept also holds true for other religions.....most converts from one religion to another come from "synthetic" people......
a true christian loves Jesus with all their heart, as well as others....and obeys him...and does what he would do.....
whether you go to church or not is not the issue...alot of synthetic people are there....and alot of sincere, but disenchanted people stay home.
I would guess about 20% are real....the book of revelation indicates 7 types of churches.....and only 2 qualify as totally committed....the rest have something they need to fix and need to repent....it is just a thought of mine,.....those that are "synthetic" as you say , can still be very moral people...

Depends on the argument of who you are asking. Collectively, factoring in the arguments of every Christian, 100% of them are "synthetic".

Fundies seem to think I'm synthetic. I tell them that they're real and they're spectacular, and then they freak out even more. Oh well.

I've been told I'm synthetic. I guess it's because I believe in freedom of religion, lifestyle, etc.Oh, and evolution! :)
