Some of you have said that I am a coward, beleiving that if I become a wiccan I will go to hell. This is not true I am simply torn between both religions. I have no fear of what awaits me in the afterlife.

I was once deceived as you are.
I did ouija, tarot, and other occultic practices.

Trust me, it is evil.

I know, and if you ever want to know how, let me know.

I am Catholic, and thought I always was.But I decieved myself and I let evil deceive me.

Hon - a Wiccan Catholic is an oxymoronic phrase.
Wiccans don't embrace Catholic mores, and Catholics in general feel Wiccans are heathens.
Maybe you had a different meaning in mind when you thought about your question?
Read some books on both religions, in fact, all religions... educate yourself and find what works for you.
I wonder if you were perhaps thinking of Unitarian Universalism? It is sometimes thought of as a blending of the two, in a way ( too complicated to get into here ).... I found a link below. It's not my cup of tea, but they are a very welcoming group :)
Peace on your journey to enlightenment !

I do not suppose so. It'd be like being a Jewish Muslim or a Christian Satanist. They have unique units of ideals that clash, I do not see how you'll suppose in each whilst. Having only a few Catholic ideals and only a few Wiccan ideals does not make you each-- it makes you neither, truthfully, considering the constituents you look to be chopping out (Catholic doctrine on souls/the afterlife/and so on. and Wiccan ideals in Divinity) are lovely necessary to these religions. You would wish to seem additional for a faith that resonates a bit higher with you. Maybe Gnostic Christianity or Christo-Paganism. Try going to beliefnet and taking their faith quiz, it's lovely well and can let you know what religions have essentially the most ideals in usual with you.

go to www.mysticwicks.com

it is a pagan forum and do some looking around, they have a thread about christian witches.

"Who believes in God and doesn't believe in God?? Not likely!"

Who says pagans do not believe in a god? They just happen to believe in more than one and more importantly, the one you apparently think is the only one...

Wicca and Christian (including Catholic) really do not mix very well.

From what I have been able to learn so far:

Wicca is a Neopagan religion, which started in the late 1940s. However, its symbols, days of celebration, beliefs and deities go back to about 800 B.C.E. and the beginnings of ancient Celtic society.

Some Wiccan are
+ Monotheistic, recognizing a single supreme being, "The All" or "The One"
+ Duotheistic, worshiping a female Goddess and a male God, "the Lady and Lord"
+ Polytheistic, recognizing many ancient Gods and Goddesses, like Pan, Diana, Dionysius, Fergus, etc.
+ Atheistic, viewing the Goddesses and Gods as symbols, not living entities

Some Wiccans consider Wicca and Witchcraft to be the same thing. Others think that Wicca (a religion) and Witchcraft (the practice of magic by anyone) are different things.

Most Wiccans practice magic. However, some concentrate only on the spirituality of the Wiccan religion and do not practice magic.

In Christianity, Satan is a fallen angel, the devil. Wiccans recognize neither Christ nor Satan and are therefore not Satanists.

Wiccan behavior is governed by the Wiccan Rede which permits Wiccans to engage in carefully considered actions (including magic), as long as they harm nobody, including themselves. Therefore, they claim that they are limited to non-manipulative, consensual, positive magic.

Other pagan groups that use witchcraft do not follow this rule.

Monotheistic religions like Judaism, Christianity, and Islam disagree with the Wiccan view of God and magic.

Christians believe that all supernatural power (including magic) either comes from God or Satan. God did not intend humans to wield this power. We request (pray) God to do some good thing like a miracle but we acknowledge God’s will first, “Thy will be done.” Using supernatural power puts us in contention with the will of God and even in the position of being God.

Catholic Church teaches:

All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one's service ... - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion.

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 2117: http://www.nccbuscc.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt1.htm

With love in Christ.

I'm afraid you have to be either one or the other. You can't be both. Wicca, witchcraft and the like are considered of the Devil by Christianity (Catholicism included). Therefore you cannot practice witchcraft or the occult while being Catholic. Those who claim to be a Christian-Witch are those who are still afraid to let go of their old beliefs for fear that there really is a hell and they will go to it if they abandon their old beliefs. Witches do not believe in hell, nor the devil, therefore we have no fear of what the afterlife holds. I would really research about wicca first before deciding whether or not it IS right for you.

Good luck.

I can't see how a person can be both Wiccan and Catholic. They are 2 entirely different beliefs and religions.

I was raised Catholic and I strayed away from the Church for 20 years still believing I was living a Christian life. I dabbled with a ouija board and even began to study wicca and all the rest. I was delivered from that all and I returned to the Catholic Church last month. Jesus will set you free.

while Catholicism borrowed heavily from Paganism at the time of its inception (holidays, rituals, etc) the roots of the belief systems are quite different. I don't know how to be a Wiccan Catholic any more than I know how to be a Druid Muslim.
I suppose if you insist on living by both worlds, begin your Pagan learnings, and then confess.

As a Wiccan, I really doubt you're looking for the religion of your ancestral gods.

I suspect that you, like many young Christians, think that Wiccans do spells and magic and that that's what Wicca is.

It's not.

Wicca is about worshipping the very real gods, plural, of Europe. It is about acknowledging the effect of climate and agriculture on our culture. It is about being 100% responsible for and to yourself....Jesus did not die for any Wiccans....because Wiccans pay for their own actions...we do not believe another can take responsibility for us.

If you want spells, magic, stuff like that, try investigating the VERY REAL world of Christian magic. As a bible-believer, there are some things (divination, necromancy) forbidden to you, but there are many more things that are not...

Try reading the works of Thomas Vaughan- his Magica Adamica discusses how the Christian god gave magic to mankind to survive being cast out of Eden.

Try John Dee, Paracelsus, Jakob Boehm...all Christians, all mages.
