Bhagwan Swaminarayan:
The teachings of Lord Swaminarayan draw authority from the sacred Vedic scriptures by Ved Vyas.
Note : References in brackets are from the Vachanamritam.
The Means for attaining Moksha:
'The Jiva is redeemed by imbibing the four factors: worshipping God, extolling the episodes of God, chanting His name and observing Dharma. It is as easy as crossing an ocean with the help of a ship. Whereas, to attain redemption by endeavouring to realise one's own Atman is as difficult as crossing the ocean by swimming.' (Gadhada II.35)
'The Ekantik Sadhu of God, who is singularly devoted to God and who possesses the attributes of Swadharma, Jnan, Vairagya and Bhakti, is the upholder of Bhagwata Dharma. The gateway of redemption for the soul is opened only by associating with such a Sadhu.' (Gadhada I.54)
'Profound love for the Satpurush (God-realised Sadhu) leads one to the path of Atma-realisation, and inspires in him the knowledge of the glory and greatness of such a Satpurush and it (love for the Satpurush) is also the only means for attaining God-realisation.' (Vartal 11)
'One who desires to redeem himself should feel that the transcendental bliss which emanates from the divine person of God and His brahmanised saint is the only bliss to be enjoyed in life. One should therefore be attached to God and His brahmanised saint with as deep affection as one bears towards one's own body. Their glory should be upheld at the cost of one's own reputation, honour or even life.'(Gad. III-7)
'One should offer equal and intensely loving service to God and His Sadhu. Then, despite being a mediocre devotee who may be destined to become a great (Ekantik) devotee after either two births, or four births, or ten births or even a hundred births he can become a great bhakta in this very birth. Such is the fruit of serving equally God, and His Devotee.' (Vartal 5)
One who desires to be redeemed should cultivate animosity with his mind. (Vartal -1)
One who has fully known the manifest human form of God is said to have attained ultimate salvation. (Kar.-7)

The soul is not mortgaged to anybody to be redeemed .Does any one mortgage it and if so to whom and how? Mortgaged to God or devil ?Who owns it ?When you have no soul on accout iof its having been mortgaged , how do you redeem it and what did you get while you mortgaged it and what did you pay for it and how do you do it while you do not have a soul to act all?
The soul is not lost as it is God and no one can mortgae it or redeem it .It is jeevatma a drop of the Parmatma. The air in the atmosphere when taken in by inhalation helps sustain the life while out side it does not seem to do anything .But if you do not inhale it , you cease to exist .Where and why does the soul go when you die for want of air ? .If the soul is all powerful why should go when you are asphyxiated? Is not the soul dependent on oxygen? The soul is neither mortgaged nor redeemed .The air we breathe (the jeevatma )is always constantly connected with the air in the atmosphere(the paramata ) and once the connection to the paramatma is severed is severed the body looses its capacity to act and reaches the statge of samadhi - motionlessness.the jeevatma mixes with the paramatma. It is like the water in the river joinig the ocean and then evaporating as vapour reaching the skies and fallig dwon as rains to run its course as river and rejoinig the ocean. the question of the soul being lost and redeemed does not arise .Some religons has those concepot that is unscientific and vague and those who accept it belindly do not think about it at all.
It is Hinduism that considers the soul itself as God and it is contrary to the principles of Hinduis to consider the soul be ing some p[roperty of the moral body tobe lost and redeeemed .by he individual with the favour of some god .
"A fragment of me in the living world
is he timeless essence of life ;
it draws oiu the senses
and the mind inherent in natue."....verse 7of 15Th teaching .of Bhagavad -gita.
"I am th eunversal fire
within the body of living beings;
I work with the flow of vital breath,
to digest the food that men consume."....verse 14 of the 15Th teaching .
" I am the pure fragrance
in earth , the brilliance in fire ,
the life in all living creatures ,
the penance in asdcetics."..verse 9 of he 15 Th teaching.

The soul doesn't need redemption - it is the body level identity the soul needs to be saved from. The learned ego is delusional and holds back the soul/authentic Self from unity with the All.

Your soul is doomed by God unless you accept Jesus of Nazareth as the Mediator between you and God, for he took the wrath upon himself, with the shedding of his blood.

Eph 2:4 but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Eph 2:5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, quickened us together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved),
Eph 2:8 for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 not of works, that no man should glory.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.
By Faith in Christ's redemptive work.. Salvation is a gift from
God, what we have to do is to accept the gift being offered. How? by having faith.. not to do anything in order to be saved, but believing in what Christ has done. Realizing this, we should have a thankful nature within us because of what Christ has done. In return, we manifest this thanksgiving to God by showing good works.
