On this R & S I often defend other religions when it would be easier to just agree with the negative comments. Do any of you do this?( I think I do it out of a sense of fairness -- particularly when a religion I know something about is being thoughtlessly attacked.) Have you done this ? And if so, why---or why not?

Why do people spend so much money on churches! Some spend half a million to a million $$ on churches! And only like I think it's 8% of churches donate to charities! Why don't they spend it on something more use full like feeding homeless, or helping those in need?

I pray to God and I keep my heart and eyes and ears open to his command. I have a girlfriend who I love very much and she is good to me and also sometimes is very impatient with me; impatient to the point that our communication is shut down, almost anything I say whether expressing love, concern, or desire to do ANYTHING to help is annoying to her.
It seems that most people would not tolerate this and would break up, but I feel that God is asking me to stay with her and continue working it out with her. I want to do this, and I am committed.
What Bible passages are recommended?
How do I pray to hear God's word and receive guidance?

This woman I would like to be my wife...

How did the caste brahmins let it go out of hand or where did the perversion of the caste system come from?

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who was incarnated as God Himself Krishna, used to embrace the untouchables and He glorified Haridas Thakur as the Namacharya or teacher of the Holy name.

Haridas Thakur was considered an outcast and muslim by hindus.

But Sri Caitanya loved him so much that when Haridas Thakur died, Sri Caitanya carried his body and wept. He said that now the ocean is a great holy place because Haridas Thakur bathed there.

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu preached that ANYONE including animals can have a chance to love God.

Please do not think I am trying to be beligerent, because I'm not, but there is a guy who masturbates in the pews at my Church, and I'm not quite sure what to say.

I think the Pastor and him are having a relationship, because he keeps smiling while this fornicator masturbates during the sermon.

What should I do?

Ezra 1:9-11

"Now this was their number: 30 gold dishes, 1,000 silver dishes, 29 duplicates; 30 gold bowls, 410 silver bowls of a second kind and 1,000 other articles. All the articles of gold and silver numbered 5,400."

Can we all agree that 1,000+1,000+410+30+30+29 does not equal 5,400?

why did I say they feel that way? because they passionately discredit anything that the Catholic Church say, and even make up stories against the Church. if that's not deep hatred and loathing, what is it? that's definitely not an act of love.

around the end of the movie when Jesus & the discipiles are walking on the beach, Peter askes Jesus if they would wait for a man to catch up to them, Jesus said " What do you care about him." What did he mean by that? I thought that he would wait on anyone. Or am I just making a big deal about nothing?

I think that as a Christian our society would be better if more women stayed home. I know that in some cases that is not possible. God created man and woman to be equal but each has its own role. Traditionally man was to provide for his family and women were to care for the children and the home. I think our divorce rate would be lower if our roles in marriage were more clearly defined. It is so hard to find a good balance when both people are working outside of the home. 1 Cor 11:3 "Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God" Now I don't think this means we are supposed to let our husbands rule us. But submission was established in order to prevent Chaos. One definition of submission I found was that it means mutual commitment and coorperation. Submission among equals. I don't think he made man SUPERIOR he made the perfect way for man and woman to work together. What do you think?

A dear friend of mine has lost her faith in God, she has been a Catholic for 53 years and now her faith has been tested, I have been emailing her for the past 3 hours, helping her through all of this, she was betrayed in the worst possible way, I cannot say the reason, but it is pretty bad.Something that happend in the past week that ruined her life, her belief, which was not her fault.

She has lost her trust in people and is completely lost and needs help in the spiritual way

Can you help me to find a way to help her?

You keep asking for proof from believers that He exists, and you say there is no proof- we say, there is by looking around you and seeing creation etc- and the biggest thing is faith.
Ok, my question to you is- WHAT IS THE BASIS AND PROOF THAT THERE IS NO GOD. I have never gotten a definitive answer from anyone. So I am guessing that it is by faith you don't believe. What if God does? Would that change how you live?
