If you could do one thing for five of your favorite R and S Regulars, what would it be and why? Let's try to keep this positive folks, as that is the intent the question is asked in.

This was an answer to a recent question about the doctrine of hell. If you believe this, does this mean you think God has nothing to say or offer that could supersede the threat of eternal torment? That would seem to me to be a low estimation of God.

All answers welcome, even if you don't believe in God or hell.

and when they witness it right before their very eyes, they STILL have doubts, and ask to see more miracles, and STILL have those doubts. That really makes the "I'll believe it when I see it" philosophy pointless. Today, it hasn't changed. People who are in disbelief today might see something miraculous, but they are too scared to face their convictions. That is the root of "disbelief". What is your opinion?

My church has an annual retreat coming up, but I have never gone because:
A) I feel that retreats are not necessary for a person to get closer to God.
B) I never have the money or have other priorities.

So this year a friend of mine in church is willing to pay for me and my girl to go. However, if we agree to take up his offer he won't be able to go because he is short on cash, unless someone gives it to him.

Also, my girlfriend doesn't want to accept my friend's offer because she feels that she would rather pay for herself since she can afford it. I'm undecided about the whole thing.

But what do you think? Also, if you were in this situation, what would you say if you were turning down this offer to your friend?

The Four Noble Truths is Buddhist language, they are:
1: The Nature of Dukkha
2: The Origin of Dukkha (Samudaya)
3: The Cessation of Dukkha (Nirodha)
4: The Way Leading to the Cessation of Dukkha (Magga)

Unfortunately, I am sure that I still don’t understand what their truth means are. May you give me some hope?

Not only pro-choice bu are for late term abortions, For morning after pill (aka plan b) and for laws that FORCE Catholic and other Christian pharmacist to sell "Plan B" pill even if the pharmacist is very against the pill for moral and religious reasons. For gay marriage.... Especially if being pro-choice prevents them from receiving communion they still stay strong with it....

ALL WHILE PARADING AROUND LIKE A DEVOUT CATHOLIC!!

I'm not talking about divulging who won the next 20 superbowls, or what stock to buy. I'm talking about things you know now that you wish you knew then.

I'd say be bold and don't be afraid of the things you fear now, because they will become completely trivial. I would say to worry less about doing what everyone says is "right" and concentrate on becoming great at the thing you enjoy most, and I would say to always follow your gut instincts.

Just thinking. If some Christians says that they're the only ones going to be saved (and everyone else is going to hell), and they have verses from the Bible to prove it.

And then another group of Christians says that they're the only ones going to heaven (and everyone else is going to hell), and they have verses from the Bible to prove it.

Doesn't that mean that everyone's going to hell according to the Bible?

(just sparking some thoughts, no harm intended)

Hey I am new convert, and I am glad that I am now a member. How do I increase my faith, and follow the path of goodness and righteousness. I was also wondering how I could talk to my husband about the faith. He is against the church, but because I am now a part of it he doesn't say anything. He says that the decision that I have made will effect how we raise our children. In his opinion our children will be half christian and half mormon. I have tried explaining to him that its all the same. But he swears that its a cult. Please sisters, what should I do.

Do you as a Christian often think about this?

This hits home personally with me. I have a family member that does not believe.

Is there anyone here that is in the same situation?

I am not questioning your belief in God, Jesus or of a Higher Power. I simply ask if you believe the stories of Noah, Moses, Adam and Eve, and other things that seem like Fairy Tales were in fact just that, stories, or do you think all those events all really happend.
