I am not questioning your belief in God, Jesus or of a Higher Power. I simply ask if you believe the stories of Noah, Moses, Adam and Eve, and other things that seem like Fairy Tales were in fact just that, stories, or do you think all those events all really happend.

Wow Looks Like i Pulled the Bible Belt out with this question.. lol.. i knew it was going to happen, so ill let a vote settle the best answer later on, but personally i find parts hard to believe, so things i cant believe and some i def can. It was questioning a "story of the bible " in church sunday school 10 years ago (age of 13), and being pretty much yelled at, that caused me to stop going to church find my own beliefs and look at how all these "stories" happened 2,000 plus years ago, and nothing like them happends in modern times, and their scientific proof that goes against the book. I believe their is a Higher power, God, but the Bible it self i believe to just be a collection of stories to guide people who want to believe it some for better so for worst ( take it too seriously and are a little crazy)

36 years ago I had a life changing experience.
I was totally changed in the innermost part of my being.
I did not know anyone else that this had happened to.
I did not even know such a thing was possible.
About a year later I was reading in the 3rd Chapter of the Gospel of John, and Jesus was talking about something called being born again.
I realized immediately that was what had happened to me that day.
Yet it was written in the Bible 1900 years earlier.
Since then I have put the word of God to the test, and I am persuaded by experience that it is in fact the Word of the Living God.

Sure, archeologists are able to note locations and customs as true to what the bible records. It is like a history book. Scientists are able to see creationism as a valid theory. in fact ABC network did a pole and found that about 60% of Americans believe that the world was created in 6 days. Each story in the bible has moral value that have been passed on for generations. A good thing to look at also is non-biblical sources that support the historical value of the bible as well. Some things may be hard to take but there are no faries and God has been doing miracles for a long time now. Never say never because nothing is impossible with God. And thingis possible. I put my faith in the whole book, not just parts...for some parts they are everyday history and for the parting of the sea.... I take that by faith, I made the decision for faith and belief in the bible and I am strong and well with this.

you gotta take em 1 x 1.
Noah: No, its difficult to believe that he had all those animals on one boat and no fights. Although there is evidence that there was a flood ~10,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age.
Moses: Yes, he is easy to get along with.
Adam and Eve. No way. Talking serpents, forbidden fruit its all nonsense.

No, much of it is based in fact. Many of the stories probably have some basis in fact that was distorted over centuries of oral tradition. Most have a thin connection to the original events. The later stories are better classified as history with spin.

God is a scientific fact. Religion is fiction that evolved from mankind misinterpreting scientific facts out of the Bible which God writes about in story form.

What is presented in the bible as factual *is* factual... Noah and the flood, Adam and Eve, a six-literal-day creation, Moses parting the Red Sea... all literally true.
When the bible *does* use allegory or parable to explain some concept, the story is clearly identified as such.
God said "rely not on your own understanding" but rather trust His Word. Just because it sounds impossible to us does not make it impossible for God.

I don't believe the Bible is a history book (that is, I don't believe the events that you mention actually happened) but I think it is more than "just a work of fiction".

I think some of the things in the bible happened, but the stories have been "embellished" a little. Make that a lot.

Believe it or not, even some jewish scholars themselves "question" much of what is written within their own "holy books" for in the "past" when anything came into "question" in the holy words, a council of elders would convene and over time they would "correct" or "add" FILL IN'S to much of what was written. So even THEY wonder what is TRUTH and what ISN'T..............

I do believe all those stories happnd. I dont think they are fairy tales. These stories were written to add inspiration to our lives and give us hope as they can be related to some aspects of daily life.
