I am a college graduate as are many muslims. I know some in Pakistan right now studying to become doctors. I know others in other parts of the world, middle east included, studying engineering and medicine all with their parents blessings and encouragement. What do you think of this?

"He said: I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) say: If anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge, Allah will cause that person to travel on one of the roads of Paradise. The angels will lower their wings in their great pleasure with one who seeks knowledge, the inhabitants of the heavens and the Earth and the fish in the deep waters will ask forgiveness for the learned one. The superiority of the learned one over the devout is like that of the moon, on the night when it is full, over the rest of the stars. The learned are the heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets leave neither dinar nor dirham, leaving only knowledge, and one who takes it takes an abundant portion.

....If we really are Oneness itself, why does our experience continually tell us otherwise? How could it be possible for that One to mistakenly identify itself as the individuals of it's own creation?
One excellent analogy is that of your nightly dreams. From within the dream, you believe you are the dream character and all the objects and events are objectively real. Unless you lucid dream, you have no idea that the real you is snoring away in bed outside the dreamscape.
As above, so below. A very similar thing is happeing in your waking state. The One Consciousness has identified itself with you, the dream character, and has come to believe that the objects and events in the world are objectively real.
To Awaken from the dream of life is to Realize yourself as the source and substance of all that You experience, including the body You seem to inhabit. The key to understanding how this identification happens is to realize that Consciousness itself, does not think.

I like the Book of Mormon much more than the Bible. I want to be a god and would like to have many beautiful women for my wives. I realize that LDS has changed to not allow the traditional teachings of Prophets Brigham Young and Joseph Smith.

I shall look into Fund. Latter Day Saints since they are the traditional Mormons!

Okay, I have a disturbing thought I hope some one help me with. In the Ten Commandments of the bible, there is a law that says" Thou shalt no commit adultry " which I believe means ' don't have sex with anyone your not married to'.
With that in mind....

The Catholic church is against same sex marriages. I understand that in laviticus, there is a " don't lay with another man " law, but the law of the levites hold the same standing as God's law?
And
Wouldn't banning a marriage between two people who love each other encourage adultry? That being the case, what is truly inspiring this anti-homosexual legislation?

The conclusion I'm comming up with is quite disturbing....

Your thoughts please. Thankyou.

…no matter how advanced we become. I mean, look at scientology; these are people who are educated and know that stories like Noah’s Ark and the seven day creation are just bloody ridiculous! But instead of becoming atheists, they invented a new religion. Doesn’t this clearly indicate to intelligent people like yourselves that your efforts to cure people of the religious disease are in vain?

Did you know that the eye has 40,000,000 nerve endings, the focusing muscles move an estimated 100,000 times a day, and the retina contains 137,000,000 light sensitive cells?

Charles Darwin said,

"To suppose that the eye could have been formed by natural selection, seems I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree."

If man cannot begin to make a human eye, how could anyone in his right mind think that eyes formed by mere chance? In fact, man cannot make anything from nothing. We don't know how to do it. We can re-create, reform, develop . . . but we cannot create even one grain of sand from nothing. Yet, the eye is only a small part of the most sophisticated part of creation-the human body.

George Gallup, the famous statistician, said,

"I could prove God statistically; take the human body alone; the chance that all the functions of the individual would just happen, is a statistical monstrosity."

Albert Einstein said,

"Everyone who is seriously interested in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the universe—a spirit vastly superior to man, and one in the face of which our modest powers must feel humble."

Notice it says to leave alone nonmuslims, it does not say to kill them. What do you think of this?

"Leave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world. But proclaim (to them) this (truth): that every soul delivers itself to ruin by its own acts: it will find for itself no protector or intercessor except God: if it offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted: such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin by their own acts: they will have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment, one most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting God. (The Noble Quran, 6:70)"

Do you sometimes feel like you are a great Christian, and you have a really good relationship with God, but then you see someone else who's relationship seems a whole lot better than yours?
I previously asked a question "How often do you pray?" The responses were unbelievable. Some people pray up to EIGHT times a day. I pray ONCE a day, and sometimes at night, I admit, I fall asleep.

After reading those answers, I now feel like a HORRIBLE Christian. Does anyone else have this happen?

I prefer the traditional teachings of the Latter Day Saints and am sad that the church has left the truth of Prophet and President Brigham Young. Actually I would be happy with just three or four wives:) Are the FLDS taking new members? They still follow the teachings of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young (like LDS used to)!

I e-mailed this person that putting out spoilers about Potter was mean and immature. She angered me completely. I had not yet read book 7, which she gave the ending too, nor have many read book 6 - she gave the ending to that as well. I told her that she must be suffering a personality disorder to put the book endings into her questions. I am so angry that she had the gall to ruin these books for everyone who sees her question and in return I was told this: "Maybe you should go live in a cave so you don't hear anything about it! You can't expect the world to stop because you are running behind."

What do you think? And do you know of a way to report this kind of thing - not to Yahoo, they won't do anything, but to some site that deals with spoilers sans warnings?

TwinsMa has blocked me from the questions so I cannot link to them here but that's fine - don't look for her questions unless you've read all the books already. Spoilers abound.

I've never known who wrote the book of revelations, and none of the people I currently know know who wrote the book. To me, it would seem that people join religions to help with sins of the past and on how to embrace the future. And since revelations paints a pretty stark picture of a not-so-gloomy future, I would think that if someone knew who wrote the book of revelations, we can study that author's life to find out more about that person, and maybe the events in their own life that led up to the writing of that very important book.

I mean I'll all for "finding yourself" and "making it your own"...but at times...I just wish I had help and not my own intuition.

Can't you just be taught the craft without making it all totally up by yourself?

A study of the Christian scriptures reveals that Jesus (pbuh) never claimed divinity. In fact there is not a single unequivocal statement in the entire Bible where Jesus (pbuh) himself says, "I am God" or where he says, "worship me". In fact the Bible contains statements attributed to Jesus (pbuh) in which he preached quite the contrary. The following statements in the Bible are attributed to Jesus Christ (pbuh):
(i) "My Father is greater than I." [The Bible, John 14:28]
(ii) "My Father is greater than all." [The Bible, John 10:29]
(iii) "…I cast out devils by the Spirit of God…." [The Bible, Mathew 12:28]
(iv) "…I with the finger of God cast out devils…." [The Bible, Luke 11:20]
(v) "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me." [The Bible, John 5:30]

Since she had relations with her father's servant she could never marry a servant of the Father. All joking aside even though the Church has wiped her clean of any sin attached to her rape I can't fathom any good LDS young man wanting to marry an unclean woman. So could she at least be sealed as a sister wife?

I don't know how many times I have heard Creationists argue that "Evolutionary Biologists believe the Big Bang created everything." Not only does the Big Bang Theory have absolutely nothing to do with the Theory of Evolution, it is completely outside the realm of Biology altogether. I was just wondering how many Creationists on here could tell me which field of science deals with the Big Bang. Here is your chance Creationists to prove that you are not completely stupid.

What are the requirments if any to be a god parent? Do you actually need to be a practicing Catholic or is it good as long as you have been baptized yourself?

I am a Catholic but not a practicing.
