A study of the Christian scriptures reveals that Jesus (pbuh) never claimed divinity. In fact there is not a single unequivocal statement in the entire Bible where Jesus (pbuh) himself says, "I am God" or where he says, "worship me". In fact the Bible contains statements attributed to Jesus (pbuh) in which he preached quite the contrary. The following statements in the Bible are attributed to Jesus Christ (pbuh):
(i) "My Father is greater than I." [The Bible, John 14:28]
(ii) "My Father is greater than all." [The Bible, John 10:29]
(iii) "…I cast out devils by the Spirit of God…." [The Bible, Mathew 12:28]
(iv) "…I with the finger of God cast out devils…." [The Bible, Luke 11:20]
(v) "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me." [The Bible, John 5:30]

The Mission of Jesus Christ(pbuh)---
Jesus (pbuh) never claimed divinity for himself. He clearly announced the nature of his mission. Jesus (pbuh) was sent by God to confirm the previous Judaic law. This is clearly evident in the following statements attributed to Jesus (pbuh) in the Gospel of Mathew:
"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
"For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." [The Bible, Mathew 5:17

Jesus Refuted even the Remotest Suggestion of his Divinity---
Consider the following incident mentioned in the Bible:
"And behold, one came and said unto him, ‘Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?’
And he said unto him, ‘Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.’ "
[The Bible, Mathew 19:16-17]
Jesus (pbuh) did not say that to have the eternal life of paradise, man should believe in him as Almighty God or worship him as God, or believe that Jesus (pbuh) would die for his sins. On the contrary he said that the path to salvation was through keeping the commandments. It is indeed striking to note the difference between the words of Jesus Christ (pbuh) and the Christian dogma of salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus (pbuh).

Jesus (pbuh) of Nazareth – a Man Approved of God
The following statement from the Bible supports the Islamic belief that Jesus (pbuh) was a prophet of God.
"Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know." [The Bible, Acts 2:22]

Yes it is in bible that Jesus said I & my father are one but what's the context read it urself..23: And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
24: Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
25: Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
26: But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29: My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30: I and my Father are one.
31: Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
It just means that I&my father are one in PURPOSE..JUST AS US & UK ARE ONE IN FIGHTING TERROR R THEY ONE NATION?

The Bible ascribes sons by HUGE NUMBERS to God.
a) 'Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the SON OF GOD." LUKE 3:38
b) "That the SONS OF GOD saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took wives of all which they chose. ". . when the SONS OF GOD came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." GENESIS 6:2 and 4
c) " . . Thus- saith the Lord, Israel is MY SON even my FIRSTBORN." EXODUS 4:22
d) " . . and Ephraim is my FIRSTBORN," JEREMIAH 31:9
e) " . . Thou (o David) ART MY SON; this day have I (God) BEGOTTEN thee. " PSALMS 2:7 (TONS A ton is 2000 lbs weight, that is about a thousand kilograms.) ("FIRST BORN:" How can there be two "firstborns"?) ("BEGOTTEN" How can God beget David at the age of forty? "This day'?) f) "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the SONS OF GOD. But what strikes me is that it goes against the following verses in bible....
One of the scribes once asked Jesus (pbuh) as to which was the first commandment of all, to which Jesus (pbuh) merely repeated what Moses (pbuh) had said earlier:
"Shama Israelu Adonai Ila Hayno Adonai Ikhad."
This is a Hebrew quotation, which means:
"Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord." [The Bible, Mark 12:29]
Book of Deuteronomy contains an exhortation from Moses (pbuh):
"Shama Israelu Adonai Ila Hayno Adna Ikhad". It is a Hebrew quotation which means: "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord"[The Bible, Deuteronomy 6:4]
Book of Isaiah:
(i) "I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour."[The Bible, Isaiah 43:11]
(ii)"I am Lord, and there is none else, there is no God besides me."[The Bible, Isaiah 45:5]
(iii)"I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me."[The Bible, Isaiah 46:9]

Old Testament condemns idol worship in the following verses:
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:"
"Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God."[The Bible, Exodus 20:3-5]
A similar message is repeated in the book of Deuteronomy:
"Thou shalt have none other gods before me."
"Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that in the earth beneath, or that is in the water beneath the earth."
"Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God." [The Bible, Deuteronomy 5:7-9]

Excellent response, even though I'm not religious anymore.

Allow me to refute kait's examples:
"the father and I are one"
"I am"

I believe the Jews, focusing on being offended and on following their rules strictly, failed to understand what Jesus really meant. In the first case, Jesus was "one" with the Father because he had a deep connection with him, was able to fulfill the law, and could love others. As for the "I am," that can be interpreted in a number of ways that do not point to an identity with God. I know it seems odd to say that "I am" would mean something other than how it appears, but if you're going to make the Bible "work," you have to concede this. Besides, it conflicts with the questioner's verses. One meaning of the "I am" here is that he was simply saying God - also known as I AM - was around before Abraham. Another: he was intended from the beginning, as God knows all. Etc.

"The Word was God" / "The Word became flesh"

Jesus fulfilled the Word in the flesh, but that did not make him God.

"His own blood"

Yes - God's own blood (a spiritual being has no literal blood) because Jesus was a gift from God, or his own KIN, as blood often means - be careful of that word.

I'm sure a real Biblical scholar could do a better job than I...

Genesis 17:1-2 "When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty, wlk before me and be blameless. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers." Philippians 2:5-11 is another example especially verse 11 "and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nautre - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."

Jesus, son of Mary, was sent by God as the last jewish prophet to Israelites.[ "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel!"-New Tesrament - Matthew - 15 :24]
He neither preached a new religion nor claimed any divinity. Divinity was conferred on him at the Council of Nicaea
in 325 A.D. The Bible was finalized in 400 A.D. And christmas was celebrated for the first time on 25th December in 5th century. To appease the Romans, who worshipped a pantheon of Gods, the doctrine of trinity was accepted .Recently it has been given up
.Men only wrote the Bilble yet they claim that iis the word of God. Thre are many contradictions found in it.
The Holy Bible recounts how Jesus was crucified. The it sys that Mary Magdalene and another saw Jesus rise to heaven!
Yet they claim that there would be asecond coming of Jesus!
Normally, the offsprings of humans die only once and would be resurrected on the Dqy of Judgement. How could resurrected Jesus come back again?

Jesus said "I and the Father are one."
Jesus said "If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father, also."
Jesus said "Before Abraham, I AM."
Jesus said " I am Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last."
John 1:1-5 "In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD WAS GOD. HE was in the beginning with God. All things were made THROUGH HIM and without Him nothing was made that was made. In HIM was life, and the life was the light of men. And the LIGHT SHINES IN THE DARKNESS, AND THE DARKNESS DID NOT COMPREHEND IT."
Jesus accepted worship while He was on the earth. That means He claimed to be God. He forgave sins. That means He claimed to be God.
Jesus Christ is GOD IN THE FLESH, GOD INCARNATE.
Whoever denies that He is, is of the antichrist!

John 10:30 "I and the Father are one." What would you expect Him to be when He says that- some common prophet?

Also, it has been written that Jesus was born of a virgin, that He spoke while He was still only a baby, that He healed the blind and the leper by God’s leave, and that He raised the dead... wait a minute- that was written in the Quran... nevermind.

Here is what a true prophet would say:

2 But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.

3 For your hands are stained with blood,
your fingers with guilt.
Your lips have spoken lies,
and your tongue mutters wicked things.

4 No one calls for justice;
no one pleads his case with integrity.
They rely on empty arguments and speak lies;
they conceive trouble and give birth to evil.

5 They hatch the eggs of vipers
and spin a spider's web.
Whoever eats their eggs will die,
and when one is broken, an adder is hatched.

6 Their cobwebs are useless for clothing;
they cannot cover themselves with what they make.
Their deeds are evil deeds,
and acts of violence are in their hands.

(Isaiah 59)

Jesus is never recorded in the Bible as saying the exact words, “I am God.” That does not mean, however, that He did not proclaim that He is God. Take for example Jesus’ words in John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.” At first glance, this might not seem to be a claim to be God. However, look at the Jews’ reaction to His statement, “We are not stoning you for any of these, replied the Jews, but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God” (John 10:33). The Jews understood Jesus’ statement to be a claim to be God. In the following verses, Jesus never corrects the Jews by saying, “I did not claim to be God.” That indicates Jesus was truly saying He was God by declaring, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). John 8:58 is another example. Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, before Abraham was born, I am!" Again, in response, the Jews take up stones in an attempt to stone Jesus (John 8:59). Why would the Jews want to stone Jesus if He hadn’t said something they believed to be blasphemous, namely, a claim to be God?

John 1:1 says that “the Word was God.” John 1:14 says that “the Word became flesh.” This clearly indicates that Jesus is God in the flesh. Acts 20:28 tells us, "...Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood." Who bought the church with His own blood? Jesus Christ. Acts 20:28 declares that God purchased the church with His own blood. Therefore, Jesus is God!

You forgot a couple verses my friend..."I AM" is one of the verses you must have forgotten to write down... John 10:30 is another one you forgot "I and the Father are One" And how about John 8:58 "........before Abraham was born, I AM
John 8:24 is another one that you must have missed, and how about John 6:40 and John 4:26 ...."I who speak to you am He" and then of course there is John 1:1 and John 1:14
Try studying scripture again and I will pray that God will open His scriptures to you.

truth always survives all odds, and This is the truth, Jesus was just a saintly mortal, and he was good. nothing more than that, and we are all Sons and daughter's of God.

Same way even he told, He is not some God or Authority with any individual potency.
