Very good, but I'd soon run out of savings.

"Thanks. In return, I'll think for you," has always worked rather nicely.

(Of course, if, as mentioned, the "I'll pray for you" is said out of sincere concern, then "Thanks" is enough for me, really)

I think I'd say, "then I'll pray that your prayer will reflect the truth of what I've told you."

Edit: Disregard, I didn't know the RRS was atheist. For you, the answer is, "you can't pray for me. Logically, if you believe I have free will, then God cannot interfere with my decision. If I do not have free will, then there is nothing that you can do to change God's decrees from before the foundations of the world."

That is so good. The last thing I'd want is someone to pray (or prey) for me. A donation in their name to the Rational response Squad is the equivalent.
I like it.

I love it, you will get plenty of funny looks with that! I did a similar question not long ago, asking Christians what they would do if I, a pagan Witch, offered them my blessings and prayers in the name of the Lady Mother Earth. Some actually said they would accept, which surprised me some. Others... the only way some of the others would probably rather catch diphtheria.

I like your idea. But we don't spank them, no matter how boneheaded they are!!!

I love it, our penguin is back! Blessings to you, oh great and wise YNNUF KLAW I. I will pray for you. LOL!

Yes, but only if it's a mean way that they say it.

Or, "And I'll light a candle on my altar for you, my friend. Thank you for the prayer in return."

Thouhg a good deal of the time they are being sincere, and it's just nice to be friendly back to them.

No, the perfect response is "Thank you." A rational person shows courtesy and respect to all, but especially to those with whom he/she occasionally disagrees. That kind of sniping only displays immaturity and animosity.

A Christian who promises to pray for you, is say ing he cares for you, he is telling you, to do whatever you wish it will not bother him. If some one was holding a gun to your head and said I am letting you live. Would you still Tell them you will make this donation. Get a grip

Oh, my goodness, I missed the announcement that informed everyone that every religion, except Christians were stopping praying immediately.

As common curtosy, Christians pray for you because we believe God listens to us and will help you. It is a kind gesture. Responding in the way you put is just rude towards people because you aren't trying to help them, your trying to poke fun at them because of what they believe. Though I think this question is meant to be a joke. Haha? Not me

I LIKE it....I kind of feel pitied when people say that....I also liked Snark!'s response....I am unsure of what I believe....and when people say that I think...."A lot of help that will do"....but I never voice my opinion one way or the other....I just give them a look that tells them I acknowledged what they said....I just brush it off....Although, I LoVe to debate about religion....
