This has always given me a smile. How can this be good symbolism for Christianity? If they are married to Christ, then isn't Jesus a polygamist? Also, if I were to make a pass at a nun, would Jesus come looking for me to kick my @**?

Seriously, how did this term come about? What is Christian teaching concerning this?

This "nun of the above" question has been brought to you courtesy of Jack

Did not Jesus say my new name is the "Word of God"
Why did Jesus take on a new name ?
Why did Jesus say my Father who art in heaven, is there another father ?
Why do men call it "Good Friday" ?
Why do men tell you the number of the beast is 666 ?
would not the number be 636 or 15 ?

'heaven is within'. So, where is this heaven you go to when you die? And, why are you waiting to die to get there if it is within? Why not go there now, like this man Jesus did? Isn't that how he 'got to be' (be-gotten) God's only 'begotten' son? Was he the only one willing to do the inner works to get there? Surely if it is within everyone, what's your hold up?
And for Christ's sake, don't quote scriptures! I would like your very own personally master minded explanation!

Im thinking about going to Islam, and ive been reading about it and it seems to be a very good faith. ive read that its an "abrahamic religion (sp?)" and that Christianity, Islam, and judaism all have the origin of Abraham. well my question is, in Christianity you have Satan as an adversary. in Islam whats the adversary? is it Satan? or is it basically the same thing only they call him the devil instead? please dont leave hateful comments as they will be ignored.thank you :]

If i cant see it, taste it, feel it, hear it or touch it, why should i believe there is a God?

And who writes a book where its impossible to get past the first few pages?

And what is Psalm 2:13? Sounds like a time line -2:13pm or something.

Im not being ignorant. I tried but, i guess God told me to move on & enjoy my life.

Is there a difference in biological make-up? Brain Chemistry? Guilt and fear?

What is it?

I can't bring myself to buy into the notion that there is an after life - I find the whole idea really nutty, but, there are those that really buy into it.

Romans 1 vs. 18 - 21 says:

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Do you think how you "carry yourself" on Y!A R&S is bound to win you some converts or at the least, change someone's mind about your faith? Or, do you act like the very infidels you love to damn to hell and belittle?

I'm particularly caught by the temper tantrum in Genesis 6-7.

Wouldn't you say god's parents are being neglectful in not supervising god's use of this toy more closely?

God's Mom: "God!! Take that thing out of the bathtub this instant! You'll wreck it! Now look at what you've done, you've killed almost all the little critters!"

God: "Aw Mom! I was just having fun."

God's Mom: "Now promise me you won't do that again."

God: "Ooooh okay, I promise."

God's Mom: "There's my good Goddly-Woddly."

Noah: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA aaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!"

God's Mom: "Did you hear something? Oh well, Daddy and I are off for a vacation. Play nice with your toys now."

God: "Yessss Mom."

I have a problem i would appriciate some help with. You see, i'm not a chirstian and wasn't raised in a christian home, however, during the years i've spent with my best friend who's a very faithful chirstian, i've seen changes in her and how she's always so at ease. lately, i've felt more and more that i wanna let the Lord into my life, but my problem is, as much as i want to, i can't seem to believe just quite yet in how he saved the world. Maybe i just need to do my reseach more, or whats the deal here?
Could anyone advice me on a chirstian book becides the bible that i could pick up and read that could maybe help me put things in perspective for me??
Thanks everyone, and wish me luck lol..

I believe there's too many contradictions in the bible. The bible says that man should work to eat. That implies that unemployment is a sin. So should unemployed men not go to church? I'll probably get reported for this but oh well.

With the idea that Jesus died for our sins, put aside...

Would that not mean that all babies who died after birth "not baptised" went to hell?

I think the idea is fear based faith...
