I came across more than enough questions about the JW's Holy Bible being falsely written and they claim the only change made was that they PUT BACK God's name in the Bible. Everything else is the same as the other Bibles. Now the number one reason for my question is if you believe that is God's name rightful and true, and your Bible like mine (NIV) did obsolete His name; then the Bible's that has not the True Name can it still be considered "Holy"? If these other Bible's did not put the True God in their Bible, how can it be known as "The Holy Bible"? Think about it. So there is ONLY ONE True Church then there must be ONLY ONE True Bible...............right or wrong?

This question is for my sister. She has just started a job and her husband does not want her to work. He thinks she should stay home and take care of their baby. He's a control freak and he has threatened to kick her to the curb (previously), which is another reason she needs a job...to save some $ just in case. Long story short, he is making it very difficult for her and trying to get her to quit by making her home life miserable (ie not letting her sleep at night and not helping with their child). Does anyone have any advice or suggestions I can pass on to her.

which gospel says about jesus the truth...it is really confusing me... if it is mathews, jesus was willing to die...then why did jesus cry out "God, God, why have you forsaken me" while he really wanted to die?

I your GOD am a very jealous god. I am the only GOD that exists, therefore don't worship any other gods.
For example Zeus, I hate that guy, don't worship him.
And don't think you can find a loophole by worshiping any of the goddesses. Not Hera, not Isis not even Tiamat. I am the only GOD that exists. The only one you've heard of.
So remember, me - #1, all of the rest - they don't exist and if they did, well, they'd probably be deadbeats like Thor, who still owes me 20 bucks. That's right you THOR! I know you are reading this and I want my money!

I've met a few very intelligent religious people, but all of them has a sort of personalized constantly evolving faith which they can discuss, defend, and change (and not one of them is at all evangelical). Most of the christians i've been expossed to display both a low (approximately <115 IQ) intelligence and a scary sort of "willfull ignorance". It's that attitude of outright refusal to acknowledge or consider outside ideas or information if it conflicts with a baseless doctrine that seems to me the most dangerous aspect of most religious people.
Just something that I worry about. Anyone else have thoughts? I hope no one decides to dismiss this out of hand because the find it insulting, that would make you exactly the type of individual i'm talking about, so I guess at that point you should take insult. ; )

I'm curious as to whether Christianity would have had such success spreading through the world had it not been that it was brought in the train of conquering armies. Seriously, do you think the Chrstian doctrine alone would have been enough to cause the people to accept it and discard their previous faiths?

Take South America, for example. Would the Bible alone have been attractive enough to cause conversion, without the conquering sword and the Inquisition?

how can you say god say this "Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness …. (Gen. 1:26)" when in that statement alone gives out to the fallacy of Anthropomorphism
and for those who dont know what that is - "Anthropomorphism - means to attribute human shape or characteristics to a god, animal or inanimate thing. Such human characteristics would include intelligence, consciousness, emotions and values."
so how can you say god is a man or merciful and all that or is just because the bible says so?

I have a serious problem. It’s difficult to explain. But I will give some examples.
1. The trees on our land don’t grow as quickly as the trees of our neighbours-three neighbours.The soil is the same.Infact some of our trees die out.
2. Our house is very untidy. Not because we are lazy. But our efforts are never enough. The house work never ends. If we plug one leak in the roof after some time another one appears elsewhere.
3. Every time we clean or change things, something goes wrong. Someone falls ill usually or we have some problem at our workplaces etc.
4. We have practically no friend’s .People that are good to us suddenly turn against us for no reason whatsoever. This has happened with all members of our family.
5. Even people are wondering what is going on. Practically nobody comes to our house. Actually people avoid our company altogether. We have no goodwill of anyone. We have to fend for ourselves, sadly.

For me, its picture magazines & short stories like in Cosmo. Real storeis, real people. Why do people get so caught up in the fiction written in the bible? Anyone who hasnt been brain washed can tell you that the bible was written by the campfire by a group of drunk men. Ive got the pictures to prove it. Send me $100 & i will send you the proof.

I mean we don't have a rule that says no alcohol sales on Budha's, Mohamed's, Abraham's and other religious figures birthday. So in essence, by signifying no alcohol sales on Christmas, the government has established one religion over the rest.
