If you were brought up as a fundamentalist, bible thumping Christian,?

what event triggered your rejection of the supernatural as real?

I was the zealot in the family until my parents divorced when I was 11. My dad remarried a woman who sang in a gospel band along with her sons, one of whom was a minister. Obviously, I spent much of my time in church and at various functions.

I started to notice that what I had learned, and what was now being taught in my new church, contradicted each other. I started asking questions which were never answered satisfactorily. In many instances, my questions were simply dismissed.

In the space of only a few months I was able to decide for myself that *someone* was lying to me. As these questions were never answered I decided that they had no answers, or that this was all false. Within a year I went from zealot to atheist and I haven't looked back.

Actually, I was brought up as a liberal Christian and became a fundamentalist. But I've never thumped a bible and don't plan on it either.

some could. Christian's at the instant are not ideal. they're able to hatred. Any Christian who reads and has some awareness of Catholic historic previous is conscious there became corruption and violence. this is their previous regrettably. even with the undeniable fact that no Christian is larger than yet another. Catholics are human beings too. i'm a Christian yet i do no longer hate Catholics or the Catholic Church. I merely disagree with them.
