It looks to me that militant Mormonism has hijacked Christianity and twisted religion into a blasphemous and sad answer to their feeling of inadequacy. Most notably I would like to take note of their doctrine that promises that they will become a Deity at death and further that they will have single women sealed to them. So being a subject of the King of Kings isn't good enough you have to become a Deity as well. Sad!

Lets also take Brigham Young for example. It took 51 wives to make this guy feel like half a man. Good grief. When you look at the evil men that started that religion how can you regard it as a legitimate religion?

They like to say that King Solomon had 700 wives but they fail to remember that King Solomon is of the Old Testament. Jesus taught us not to follow the sinful ways of characters in the Old Testament. Jesus died for our sins and he didn't teach us to repeat the sins that Brigham Young openly flaunted.

I don't understand why so manyt Christians are proud to be "God-fearing"? Doesn't logic dictate that fear based relationships are dangerously one-sided? For example...When a person is in an abusive and threatening relationship are they not told by loved ones to leave the relationship? Shouldn't a relationship be completely equal? If so, is it not ones moral responsibility to make these "God-fearing" Christians aware of their circumstance so that they may free themselves from it?

FYI: As a curious creature I have read the Bible(many versions) on numerous occasions and went to Church from the age of birth-15. I have read many books on religion and discussed religion in many groups as I find it fascinating. However, this one question has always lacked an answer that satisfied me.

If yes, then why even create 2 alternate universes? (here and hell) Why not just create us all in Heaven?

That was what was submitted as an answer to a previous question.

Am I to believe this actually makes sense to anyone?

Am I to believe this sounds like a god worthy of worship?

God can do -anything-!

He doesn't have to "sacrificed his only son to be murdered for your sins.".

A real God could simply forgive them, period.

A real God wouldn't need the melodramatics of torture and crucifixion.

A real God of love and compassion would understand Humanity and forgive, as a Father with his child.

A real God would not have to pull out someone and have him crucified to convince the child God loves him and forgives him.

I will -never- understand the mentality that believes the crucifixion was necessary to forgive sin.

A real God can do -anything-, and needn't resort to bloodshed to get done what he wants done.

And a real God of Love would -never- resort to bloodshed, ever.

I hear a lot of people talking about seeing them all the time, and I pulled up a few receipts from this week, and three of them were $21.12, and one was $11.11.

Is it good luck? Like a superstition thing?

What is the big deal? Each one their own? Why down Wicca? Don't give me crap about t.v. and movies. Because if any other pagan religion was popularized by the media it would have the same effect. So what's the excuse to judge another pagan?

It's pretty great, Richard Dawkins speaks at Randolph-Macon Women's College and a bunch of dorks from Liberty University show up to ask him a litany of sophomoric questions including the dreaded "What if you're wrong?"

I have nine dogs (mom, dad and their 7 pups, now 5 years old) & four cats. When the pups were young mom managed to lead them through a hole in the fence they'd made & off they went onto a cattle ranch.

They're Australian Blue Heeler/Border Collies.

See cow: make cow move.

You can imagine they thought themselves in heaven. Until the owner of the cattle took a shot at them, & managed to shoot off mom's front leg.

The pups ran home right away. Mom took hours to get home, her leg dangling by a piece of skin.

Were I the thing in the bible, I'd have just watched her bleed to death.

I scooped her up, put her in the car, drove like a maniac to the vet, & she is the sweetest most loving three-legged dog I know.

I look at her & I feel love & I feel guilt as she wouldn't be in this position if I'd done a better job building the fence.

How anyone can believe a god can feel less compassion for us than I feel for my dog, is beyond me.

For me it was becoming fully aware and owning what had happened to me as a child. It changed everything, it made everything more of a challenge...but I could never go back to the person I was before that happened. What was your point of no return?

As i explored through yahoo answers it's like a lot of people are loosing faith in God. Along time ago people would fight for their boleifs and know it's like everyone lost there morals. I don't think war is just, but i'm just using it as an example of what lengths people would go to for the dignity of bringing honour to their boleif. God is love and does not approve of war, so i'm letting you know i'm not saying he's into that stuff. Please tell me why this world is changing so much. Everyone is somwhat loosing or disrespecting their own faith by being unfaithful in relationships, stealing for no good cause, not praying, and treating others like dirt even though we are no longer at war. What is going on?

I am trying to live right with God. But it seems like I easily fall into temptations of the flesh. I would be good for several months, then the urges come 10 times stronger. I truly to find my soulmate and wait until marriage, but I really like having sex, especially if she is my girlfriend. I have not had sex in awhile, but if I cannot deal with it now, six months from now, I will be in the bed with some girl. What can I do?

Since even the Kufar don't suffer in "hell" eternally, they eventually get reprieve and a chance to indulge in the rivers of wine and the houris and ghilmans, what the heck is the use of even believing in the first place? To score brownie points with Sky Daddy Alla?

I asked a similar question twice already, and I got only one response from a Muslim. You can answer the original question if you want:

Since Muslims do not believe in the curse of “original sin”, then why does Allah allow everyone to experience pain, suffering and eventually, death? Both good and evil, man and woman, animal and human, experience disease, suffering, and death. Why did Allah do this? If there is no curse, then why do good people suffer? Why do good people die?

I’m not trying to pick a fight, just curious.

We know that as believers God has a love for us that cannot be seperated by anything, but ourselves. Romans 8:31 asks the question who can be against the believers since God is for the believers. Romans 8:35-39 lists what cannot seperate us from God's love. Nothing can, except ourselves. The only way that the love of God can be seperated from us is if we seperate ourselves from God's love. Now to the question. God has this love and because of it He will do anything to keep us protected. If God be for what we are doing as believers then who can stop us. Though some may try, the only person that can truly stop the work of the believer is the believer himself. So I ask once more "If God be for us, who can be against us?"
