The King James Version is the only one that I put all my confidence in. I have seen most all the others also. The only way we can know it is correct is by the spirit. If we lean one way or another because we think it is easy we are deceiveing ourselves.
Those who do not understand the spirit, the power of the Holy Ghost, will not understand the KJV either. If you can look back over the years, you'll see every spiritual person and church has their foundation in the King James Version.
Years ago I was like other people and had a big problem reading the KJV. It was hard to understand for me. Once I had found an interest in the word of God, I began to read and ask the Lord to help me with the Bible. It did not take long to begin to understand many pasages. As I read and studied more, I understood more. (Thank God for his spirit.) I would then pick up these other translations of the Bible and read a passage that the Lord had revealed to me, they did not have the same effect on me. They were watered down.
John 6:63 King James Version (KJV)
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
When the words of Jesus began to be changed the spirit of the meaning began to be changed also. Mordern, New Age Christians are the ones who lead others to follow the newer different translations.
People will read what they want, but those who truly want to learn the mind of God will use the King James Version.

The "errors" you cite in your letter concerning the original King James Version were typographical not having any thing to do with content.The printing press was new then and yes typesetters did misspell words. This was subsequently corrected. get your facts straight... The Apocrypha books were not considered to be divinely inspired so were never included. I've read them and I agree. Christians who have truly researched "other Versions" can't help but come to the conclusion that the King James Version is the most true and reliable Version.Now there is a"new kjv bible NKJV out" it is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I do not trust it. I stick with the 1611 Kjv.I would encourage anyone to personally research the different bibles to see for themselves why we must be very discerning on which version we choose.When you see the differences you will be as shocked as I was. The Internet has many good sites to help you in your journey. May your eyes be opened too;

By far I believe the best.
It IS, however, a translation, and unfortunately, the English language cannot capture the rich fullness of the meanings found in the original languages.
King James is the best in English, with New King James a close second, but the Greek shows the specific meanings.
Haddon Robinson, in his book, Biblical Preaching, said going to the Greek from the English is like going from a black and white television to a colored television. I think you get the idea.
Fortunately, there are many good books that help the average reader get into the Greek.

Problem is that you are not the authority that decides which version is the best. It is not based on what your favorite is.
KJV is one of the most accurate versions but language has changed meaning over the last hundred years or so since the last revisions (oxford and cambridge editions in the middle 1800's) and there are a lot of words that give the wrong meaning now. No one around now can even read let alone understand the original 1611 version. These things need to be kept up to date. It is certainly better than the paraphrase versions such as the NIV though.

If you have access to an academic library you can compare versions of the KJV. In the original 1611 version there were misspellings and even instances where the Messiah was called Judas 4 times. This was corrected in latter versions. There is more than 1 KJV. Which do you think is the purest?
You may prefer to hear the beautiful and majestic language of the KJV Bible but it isn't a sin to rely on other versions.

No, I don't believe the only bible to be used is the K.J. Can you actually read and understand it? The language we speak has changed since those days, we don't say things like thee and thine and even though we understand what that means, there are a ton of words in that version that I wouldn't have a clue what it means. What good is a bible that you cant understand? Also some of the original texts were re-examined and they found some discrepancies that were corrected for the later versions.

It's been watered down and changed frequently over the years since they started putting it together from various bits & pieces of religious & historical documents, both before and after King James ordered his version to be created. It's just the version you're accustomed to.

There really isn't anything to answer...being that you've hit
the nail directly on the head. You have obviously done your homework and are an extremely intelligent individual.
It's not necessary for you to find out what other people think when it seems pretty cut and dry to me that you're already
highly knowledgeable about the subject in question. Use your gift to enlighten others because you're already enlightened from a maturity vantage point. You're on a level that most people could only dream of being on.
Take something good from your learning experiences and spread it around...share your insights with the rest of the world. You are blessed, become a blessing. Love and peace.

Its all in whatever you want to use. For me, King James Version is confusing and I can barely understand it, so I use the NIV cause its much easier to understand They just kind of, simplify it, but they don't take any information out of it. In my Church, you can use pretty much any bible, and say if he was reading in the NIV, you can still keep up with the King James. So its not changed, but just simplified for stupid people like me. XD. Hope this helps!

I think it's the best, after reading several translations. The New King James is also good and some find it easier to read.
