Im thinking about going to Islam, and ive been reading about it and it seems to be a very good faith. ive read that its an "abrahamic religion (sp?)" and that Christianity, Islam, and judaism all have the origin of Abraham. well my question is, in Christianity you have Satan as an adversary. in Islam whats the adversary? is it Satan? or is it basically the same thing only they call him the devil instead? please dont leave hateful comments as they will be ignored.thank you :]

Basically names are pronounced slightly differently.
Eg
Shaitan/Iblis = Satan
Ibrahim = Abrahim

Friend if you think you can compare Islam with Christianity you are mistaken. The whole divide started with Abe's kids Issac and Ishmael. The Arabs have hated the Jews ever since. They do not compare.
Before renouncing Christ which will be necessary if you want to be Muslim try reconciling your differences with Jesus yourself. Prayer would certainly help but try getting into his word some everyday and learn the truth for yourself instead of relying on others to do it for you. In Islam you will be forced to memorize the Koran word for word and very quickly too. So that's not much to ask.
God Bless!

Islam is steeped within Arabic culture.
Satan is the adversary however he has an Arabic name.
Unlike Christianity, in Islam a believer cannot have a personal relationship with God. God is completely apart from His creation. There can be no assurance that any particular Muslim is destined for Paradise/Heaven. God will do as God will do. A Muslim can live a near perfect life and may still not be granted entry into Paradise.
It is a crime in Islam to ever convert away from Islam. In several Muslims countries it is a crime punishable by death.

In Islam belief in Allah (God) is called 'Iman'. You can directly pray to God no medium is necessary. The devil is called Iblis or Shaitan. He is a Jinn who has free will. If you have faith in Allah the devil (Shaitan) cannot harm you. The main theme (shahada)in Islam is there is no God except Allah and Mohammed his Prophet (Rasul).
Difference with christianity is Quran says Jesus is not God, neither Son of God Just a messenger or Prophet. The Quran says Mohammed is the last messenger. If you have further question go to http://www.irf.net
it explains Islam in the light of science better. This is a good website to learn about Islam. Basically Islam says if you live a good life, believe in God you will go to heaven. If you watch Dr. Zakir Naik and Ahmed Deedat's video you will have a better knowledge in Islam.

Follow your heart and do not allow people who have a negative opinion change your view in Islam. The devil is named Shaytan or Iblis, he wishes the children of Adam harm, and will try at every chance to reach you when you are in a state of weakness. You should not fear him, only Allah.

Religion is not some 'thing' to be found in market..
One has to be lived
If you feel christianity is not satisfying you, you may choose Islam..
But leaving Islam may not be so easy as entry to it would be...
