Because money (to a large extent) is a limited commodity, for a healthy economy, the supply of it is deliberately limited.
"Life" is EASY to make lots more of, people do it all the time, even a lot of the time when they do not mean to.
To exaggerate the point with hyperbole, logically we should value oil more than people*...it's almost too easy to make more babies, but close to impossible to make more oil!

I am not crazy about money, but I do need it to get by. I cannot lie and say 'money is not important' because it is. We need food, money, clothes, etc. People do value life, that is why they earn money to feed themselves and their family.

It is becase people value life that they are crazy about money.
I want to do as much, see as much and experience as much as possible in my short life, sadly however, money is needed to achieve this.
I want to swim with dolphins, bungee jump, scuba dive, pilot a plane, I want my kids to get the best education possible, private tuition to assist with this, I want to see the world, I want my children to eat good food and live in a safe and nice neighbourhood etc etc
Without money it would be impossible to achieve this!!!

it is all predicted in the bible, God describe how people would be in the last days of this system of things in 2 Timothy 3:1-9, it says men would be lovers of themselves and and of money rather than lovers of God.
