Can this be considered scientific proof that Santa Claus isn't real?

Also...

For those of you who teach your kids to believe in Santa Claus, if your kid somehow managed to find this somewhere, what would be your counter-argument, assuming you were going to defend believing this particular myth?

Last...

Why do we teach our kids to believe this story in the first place?

Honestly, I wopuld probably carry on the tradition if I had a kid to do so with. Childhood is a wonderful time, filled with hope and magic of all kinds. I don't think it does any harm to a child. Neither, however, do I think it is really necessary.

WSY as to each of these questions?

Read on under details...

Ok, I just sawy someone post this, I quote them:

"it takes just as much faith to believe in atheism as it does to believe in God. to make the absolute statement “God does not exist” is to make a claim of knowing absolutely everything there is to know about everything – and of having been everywhere in the universe there is to go – and having witnessed everything there is to be seen. of course, no atheist would make these exact claims. however, that is essentially what they are claiming when they state that God does not exist."

- So it's what you are claiming when you say Zeus and Thor don't exist?

Once again, christians pick out THEIR god as the only possible god.
Thoughts on this ridiculous quote?

prayer in school is not Illegal. or Banned. it is simply not an official function of the school or allowed to interfere with schedualed classes.

the Department of Education makes this very clear.
see for yourself what the LAW is.

So the geography of your place of birth dictates the god you may follow - if we were left to choose there would be a far greater blend and mix of religions across all countries. This is obviosly not the case and therefore we have nations who with strong bias to a particular belief system.

If I was born in India i'd be Hindu, Asia Budist, America Christian, Italy C|atholic, Islam Muslim, Jordan Jew.

If your watching the debate earlyer they asked one republican if he thinks a business person be allowed to fire a person they find out is gay. Which abosultely disgusted me. What the hell. That is exactly like firing a person based on gender and race. it's discrimination. What if that gay man had no where to go and that was his only job? sometimes i wish christians would really ask themselves what would jesus do. I doubt jesus would throw a man out in the cold for that.

I come across answers such as since God cannot be seen thus he is non existent. But could billions of Christians for the past 2000 years been following Christ blindly if he is indeed just a man not God himself?

Many Christians indeed share their testimonies why God has been so alive in transforming their life and help them. Aren't they the witnesses of God?

Christianity is not just a religion, it is a personal relationship with God 24 hours a day, like a child with his father and of all, continue to nourish his spiritual growth by means of active participation in the Church.

Are there penalties that occur on earth for sins in a person's daily life?

I am a christian, but I just realized something that might challenge everything i was raised to believe.
So God is all knowing right? And he knows what everyone will do? And who will be saved? and all you need to do to be saved is believe that Jesus died for your sins right?
So then why did he create us if he knew that some would not believe? why would he create us knowing that some would go to hell?
the fact that someone or something would willingly create something knowing that it would be destroyed or suffer, seems a bit... irrational. any thoughts on this?

Am I being too negative?

Someone please enlighten me. :-)

"From lust springs grief,
From lust springs fear,
From the one who is wholly free from lust,
there is no grief, much less fear."

If so, how is it overcome? :-)

Historically [and currently..], what are the worst crimes commited in the name of religion, particularly the many and varied christian religions.

Documented with no conjecture if possible, as we don't want to sink to the level of the christian mindset.

Hopefully these answers will plant the seed of sentient thought in the minds of those who are in denial, or who are ignorant/misinformed of the true history of the deity worship group they adhere to.
Thanks

Most people are completely ignorant of the fact that the mentally ill, like bipolar disorder sufferers and schiphrenics, tend to have very high IQ's. I have schizoaffective disorder, a combination of the two. Schizophrenics also have physical visible differences when compared to a normal brain, enlarged sections. Both also tend to excel in the arts. I wasn't trying to be rude when I asked if homosexuality might be a mental disorder. I myself have schizoaffective disorder, a combination of both bipolar a schizophrenia. Beethoven, Motzart, Van Gough, where all bipolar. They where geniuses. Mental disorders are not contageous.

Nevertheless some uneducated people seem to think that mental disorders are the result of some evil the afflicted has done. They think we bring it upon ourselves. Or that we don't have a love of the truth. None of this is true. We are not evil and the diseases are real. We are not being punished by God for our deeds. It's just an affliction. Get it?

Who buys their groceries? Who buys their feminine hygeiene stuff? Do they have bills to pay? Are nuns women that just happen to have chosen to be nun for a vocation? Do nuns ever get their hair done? Do they take bubble baths? When they walk are they really walking or are they floating?

If heaven is so wonderful, and God is so loving, why stay here on earth where the pain and loneliness is so intense? Why not end it all and go on to heaven? I am not Catholic - I do not believe suicide is the unforgiveable sin.
