I've spent some time over in the Biology section, and in the Earth Sciences/Geology section, where people are discussing various aspects of evolution.

No one is discussing creationism or intelligent design.

So why do you post your challenges against evolutiuon here, and not there where there are many people who are very capable of addressing such challenges?

Does it say something that you are only willing to post your challenges in a group intended to discuss faith and not science, rather than post your challenges to a group where science is the proper topic of discussion?

Okay, last night I had this totally wierd dream about my ex-fiance. The last time I had a dream about him, was a few months ago and I dreamed he was in alot of pain and I couldn't figure out why. The dream really bothered me, so I looked him up on MySpace and found out that that same night his best friend was killed in an ATV accident. Wierd right? And I swear to GOD that I am telling the truth. Anyway, the other night I dreamed that my time to be with him was running out. It wasn't so much a dream with a story line as it was a intense feeling in my sleep. It bothered me like the other one did, so once again I looked him up. HE'S GETTING MARRIED! I don't understand this at all. I am HAPPILY MARRIED to my first love and the man of my dreams. Why the heck am I having these wierd dreams? I am totally happy that he has found what he wants, and she looks like a wonderful girl. It's just really odd that I am having these psychic dreams about a man that I am no longer connected to. Any Ideas?

Why? Instead of hating Arabs, they should be thanking them. Jews were being persecuted in Europe and slaughtered and the only people that would tolerate them were the Arabs...How come the Jews insisted on a homeland when indeed they would not be there had not the Muslims protected them and defeated the Crusaders?

I am a born again Christian myself, but I am a little confused. God wants us to be happy, but will he only give us what we need, and not what we want? Even if I worked hard for it, but I don't need it, but I pray everyday and ask in faith, will he give it to me, even if it is not a necessity? I know you will say it depends on what it is, so I am talking about meeting someone.

People usually say, "I'll believe it when I see it."

If people see something they don't believe, they say "I'm hallucinating."

What if I don't believe that the people walking past me aren't real? What if I just have a really vivid imagination, and am hallucinating the whole thing?

What about you? What if when you last went into the city, people walking past you were only visual and auditory hallucinations?

Just something a little philosophical for the R&S section to think about, so I can get a gauge of how you guys think.

if you read the Book of Mormon & prayed to God asking Him if it were true & the answer that you received was Yes, it is true, would you get baptized without question or would you deny the answer?

James 1:5-6
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

***Serious Question*** (Please dont start cussing me out...lol) Okay... I grew up in the church, southern baptist, my grandfather was the pastor.... you know when I was little I didnt really pay much attention, i just sat there every sunday and doodled on the offering envelopes. But as I grew older I noticed that all of these so called "christian" people. These people that are supposed to be so loving and caring are judging people they dont even know because of the fact they have tattoos and smoke, people that dont come to church every sunday, and people with less money. Talking junk about people sitting in sunday school class..?? Now I know not everyone is like that, i know. But A LOT are. And since when were people getting sent to hell for not showing up every sunday. Well needless to say im not a christian, not just cause of that, cause I have other beliefs... but its annoying... is anyone with me on this??

Yule - The rebirth of the Sun -God, Lugh (Winter Solstice)
Ostara - full awakening of the Maiden Goddess (Spring Equinox)
Corresponds to birth of jesus, christmas, easter (Ostara) corresponds by full awakening of new life - the new life of man, having sin being taken
Hmmmm... Pagan concepts?
How come The Christain Church is against women? I am NO FEMINIST but believe men and women must work together. Women are not allowed to be a priest in the Catholic Church, no matter how faithful they are. The Shakti is the power and is in the female diety to give power to the male diety in Hinduism. (Parvati and Shiva) I simply don't understand. Christians came from different polotheistic religions, then, once they organise, try to destroy us! Why?

Disfellowshipping announcements made at JW meetings are supposed to be phrased just, "So-and-so is disfellowshipped." No reason given. When someone decides to "just quit" the JWs, sometimes they just quietly leave. If no one knew how they felt, they could effectively disappear. But if someone voiced some questions first and didn't feel the answers were satisfactory, they might make it known to the elders, who could disfellowship them so no one else talks to them. There've been cases of witness abuse victims who have been disfellowshipped for speaking out to warn other possible victims of their abusers when nothing was done to the abuser because of the "two witness" rule. A friend of mine didn't know she was raped by a "brother" using the "date rape" drug til another one told her because this guy had bragged to him. SHE was disfellowshipped for about a month for being a "loose woman" until an appeal had her reinstated. Nothing was done to him. She had to take being shunned for no reason

what do you think of this plan........???

first we all pool our money together and create a foundation. the mission statement of this foundation would be" we will work tirelessly to ensure every child alive has plenty of food to eat, shelter, and education " then once we have made certain all the living children of Earth were well taken care of, then we could gently try to persuade people that abortion is not the best option, when the mothers of Earth know that their children will always have food and shelter and education because our foundation will take care of them if needed, this might greatly diminish the amount of abortions. or we could always just try to force our beliefs on others.

If Allahs word could be corrupted, How can you be sure the Qu'ran is accurate couldn't the Qu'ran be altered before Muhammad passed it to you? What assurance do you have that the Qu'ran is the inerrant word of God?
Doesn't this mean Allah is weak if he can't keep his word?
how can you believe in a god who can't keep his word isn't this simply a waste of time?

Like, I believe if I ever were to become pregnant, I would keep the child. Not because of the killing thing -- because people do die, and that's just a fact of nature, of life -- but because I was almost abortioned as a child, because I "wasn't supposed to be here". My mother had cervix cancer and was told she couldn't become pregnant. On top of that, my mother's other five children she birthed were C-Sections, and I was naturally-born.

And she said to me, when she was alive, that she would be unbelievably sad if I never existed because she thought I was a wonderful person.

Whether or not I agree about me being wonderful is at my own discretion, but that point is that she wasn't looking at the life/death factor, but the PERSONALITY factor.

By getting an abortion, one could be preventing the existence of someone who would be wonderful.

I don't know, that's just my take.

[end skip]

What you guys? Pro- or Anti- abortion in terms of yourself and others?

World = >10,000 years old. Fact.
Man evolved from apelike ancestors. Fact.
There is no evidence of a worldwide flood......a flood in the Mediterrian area yes, but world, never. Fact.
Pi does not equal 3. Fact.
And then there's little things like the Gosples not coinciding that should prove that the Bible is not 100% fact.

These are facts, you can't argue facts, only 31% of Christians still take the Bible literally, and most haven't even read it.
