If heaven is so wonderful, and God is so loving, why stay here on earth where the pain and loneliness is so intense? Why not end it all and go on to heaven? I am not Catholic - I do not believe suicide is the unforgiveable sin.

If you are a Christian, that's not your choice to make.
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

I Corinthians 6:19-20

Well you see, not to sound all preachy or anything, God wants you to live the life he gave you to the fullest, so it's kinda like a test to see how you treat companions and yourself, while having a great time with the things you already have. Even if you don't think suicide is an unforgivable sin, you know suicide will add to your pain, and the world is full of hurt. How will you adapt to it? That's up to you. Though God is loving, he is strong in justice as well. The fair way is a good way. Good luck to ya =D

No, in fact, the "unforgivable sin" is slandering (blaspheming) the Holy Spirit (which you really have to go out of your way intentionally to do -- It's not generally done accidentally).

As far as chucking it all and going straight to the reward, that's kind of what the Apostle Paul thought, too:

Phil 1:21-24
21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.

...but he knew he had more that he needed to do here for Christ.

Heaven *is* wonderful, but we're here for a reason. And knowing what that is is the real thing to find out.

Because, cutting your life short is a selfish act. Those you left behind would be devasted. You'd also be shortening the amount of time learning life's lessons. Life is hard, but in the end you'll find out the purpose. Going through the pain is relatively short compared to eternity. Hang in there. Have you ever seen the movie "It's a Wonderful Life". You may not be aware of all the people you've touched and will effect positively and lovingly in the future. It would be a shame to throw it all away. I recommend that movie if you haven't seen it. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My life is a mess... I have asked God to end it... it is not my decision to end it... if God wants me to remain here then this is where I will remain... I ain't about to go that far against the Word and Will of God... even for those of The True Christian Faith Suicide is not an unforgivable sin...but I would still have to answer for my action... and I have enough to answer for now... I will not add that to the list...

Ecclesiastes 3[kjv]
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Perhaps if we christians die soon who is gonna spread the gospel???

John 3:16[kjv] "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.

With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.

If you are so self absorbed I really question whether you are a Christian at all.
If you had anything of the Spirit of Christ in you then you should be working to in some way bring others to the truth you have found. If there is nothing of that in you, I don't think you are going to heaven.

Perhaps your life is full of pain and loneliness, but mine is not. While I look forward to Heaven, God (who, btw, is right here with me) ensures me joy right here on earth :)

Cause God is so good and powerful that he makes us stay here for a while to suffer and too resist the Devil and so we can experience heart ache and you can't commit suicide cos then you would go to hell.

Woah answering that as a Christian is hard!
Glad I'm a Taoist!

Not much choice. Suicide will only get you a one-way trip back here to learn the lessons you failed to this time round. So like you I don't think it's a mortal sin, but it does seem to be an unecessary delay in things...
