I come across answers such as since God cannot be seen thus he is non existent. But could billions of Christians for the past 2000 years been following Christ blindly if he is indeed just a man not God himself?

Many Christians indeed share their testimonies why God has been so alive in transforming their life and help them. Aren't they the witnesses of God?

Christianity is not just a religion, it is a personal relationship with God 24 hours a day, like a child with his father and of all, continue to nourish his spiritual growth by means of active participation in the Church.

Jesus [Latin of Greek Iesous from Hebrew Yeshua` contraction of Yehoshua` a proper name meaning savior or helper, or that which is spacious or widespread] Indubitably a historical character, whose life as narrated in the Gospels is pure allegory, a story of the initiation chamber. There is a story current from medieval times among the Jews, mentioned in the Sepher Toledoth Yeshua` (Book of the Generations of Jesus), to the effect that the Jesus of the Gospels was a Jehoshua ben Panthera, a Jewish adept living about 100 BC. Jesus illustrates the typical sequence in occult history: 1) the coming of a leader or teacher to a people needing to be led and taught; 2) his passing, followed by the adoration, even worship, of his followers; 3) the gradual transformation of historic facts into more or less embroidered legends or mythological tales, which in time cluster so thickly about his memory that his identity as a person, and even his name, are lost; 4) the myth, allegory, or legend; and 5) the efforts of other, later teachers to explain, interpret, and reinstate this earlier teacher, now a purely mythic figure or else materialized and misunderstood.

There is no physical or documentary evidence dating to the time that Jesus would have lived suggesting that such a person ever lived.

There is not one word written about Jesus by anyone who would have been with him when he did anything. There is no description of what he looked like. There is not one word he ever spoke that was written down by any anyone who could have been there to hear it.

There is nothing written by anyone, or any government/state, from the time that mentions him. No one ever wrote about anyone passing through with large groups of followers and performing miracles.

There are not any records (including the Roman records of Pontius Pilate) that mention Jesus or anyone who could have been him. There is no mention or record of the crucifixion of anyone who might have been Jesus dating to the time he would have lived and died.

There is no record or archaeological evidence for his crucifixion, even from Jerusalem. The supposed darkness that fell upon the earth at the time of his death is not recorded by anyone anywhere in the world (including Jerusalem’s own records).

There are not even any records of anyplace called Nazareth until after Jesus would have died.

There was probably some charismatic guy back then, that a bunch of ignorant, poor and weak people grew to deify over time. And after more time, more shrewd people began to organize and realized that they could use the myth to gain power over and control those poor weak people by instilling in them the fear of "god". And after more time, this grew, and the myth of "jesus" became the massive farce that it is now.

The history of christianity is extremely complex and intertwined with the fear driven psychology of humans, but this is the most terse way I can think of to summarize it.

All religions claim similar things (transforming lives etc [ie. Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, etc, etc.]). This demonstrates clearly that what they worship is actually not real. There is no convincing evidence that Jesus ever lived. But there is evidence that (if he did live) did not do what was written about him. Why did the writers wait decades to write anything?

The proof of the historical existence of Jesus and the authenticity of the founding of his church is a good starting point for a non-believer. Denials of the historical existence of Jesus have frequently been attempted.

NON-CHRISTIAN sources attest to the historical existence of Jesus. The statements of Tacitus around 117 (Annales XV,44), of Pliny the Younger around 112/113 (letter to the emperor Trajan), and of Suetonius around 120 (Vita Claudis, ch. 25) are reliable and historically conclusive and we may admit them as trustworthy evidence.

We also possess statements by the Jewish writer Josephus Flavius from around 93/94 which permit us to accept his knowledge of the historical personality of Jesus.

As far as I am concerned, the best proof that Jesus is for real is the fact that he answers my prayers. I am not trying to pull your leg, it is true. He has also revealed himself in countless ways to believers so he is truly risen.
Peace and every blessing!

Jesus was here in a human form. He was a teacher and the perfect example. He is the most documented person in the history outside of the Bible. We do not even need the Bible for that reason. YES, He lived and died and resurrected. : )

He is well and alive. He is on His throne : )

So your argument is that if a religion is the most popular one it has to be the correct one?

* this as a logical fallacy - the argument from popularity
* if you consider the thousands of christian denominations to be different, islam becomes the most popular religion
* are followers of, say, allah, not "witnesses" by the same token? of course the argument is ridiculous.
* christians don't seem to understand their religion is just another religion; their minds are filled with marketing slogans.
* your jesus was shamelessly copied from older gods.

if Christ *was* just a man, people *could* technically follow blindly. luckily, i don't believe he was just a man -- i believe he was/is the Son of God. personal relationship really is key.
