What is your view on Humanism? Do you support Humanism? Do you think that is it a good idea?

so what we got here on yahoo answers and (elsewhere too) are huge masses of people coming up with liberal theological opinions, not to mention the ones who aren't really sure if God exists as if they have any say in the matter.
I was wondering why you people can't be smart little children and actually think of reading inspired books, as opposed to non-inspired. By that I mean that God wrote it, not man.

I think it's time to expand your horizons to that which is supernatural. Consider the fact that the world does not willingly support you, nor does the air you breathe willingly fill your lungs. The world groans because of you, the sinner. You are nothing to man, and you are certainly nothing to God.

consider also the fact that you are dead meat if you're not saved in Christ

one is a catholic, the other is a christian.
what do they do?

i heard that it's better to forget about starting a relationship
than to get into a relationship first and argue later over faith...

they're not supposed to be in a relationship in the first place,
but how do you control whom to like and whom not to like?

what happens if both are free thinkers and one of them becomes a christian later...what happens to the spouse?

do you force someone to convert to a particular religion?

is it right to convert, because of love, or just trying to appease or meet the "rules"
and not because you truly believe?

How sometimes we get the most random and bizarre songs stuck in our head?
Today I had this song stuck in my head and I have NO idea why!
"My baby takes the morning train, he works from 9 to 5 and then, he takes the train on home again, to find me waiting for him!"
-I dont know the title but I know its older. And its cheesy!

If you read the Bible and pray about, it is promised that you will get a feelig that it is true.

I have done this myself and I have gained a testimony to the truth of the Bible and Jesus.

Now, it is true that I was raised as a Christian by my parents, but I have no doubt that even if my parents weren't Christian, I would still have converted because I have such a strong feeling inside of me that I can't imagine not being a Christian.

So, here's my question: Why do so many people turn away from Christianity? Why do they choose to ignore the feelings that they get that let them know this is the one true religion?

Surely other people have prayed and asked if this religion is true, yet not everyone has converted. Why?

Have they just closed their minds off to the truth? Why are people so arrogant to think they have all the answers. You are lost without Jesus in your life. It is the only way to go to heaven. Why won't they see the light?

So that means that all catholics could became evangelicals and still be saved.

Catholics believe that non-Catholic Christians can go to heaven.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states,

Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.

Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.

All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

why are some of the answers so cruel or insensitive? Questions from depressed people, people living with loss of loved ones, people concerned about serious problems, etc. deserve kind answers. You can speak the truth in love, no matter how hurtful the truth is. Why would anyone want to be smart alec or hurtful to these vulnerable ones? What possible purpose does it serve to kick someone when they're down?

I REFUSE to believe in evolution. It doesn't matter how much so-called evidence you present to me, I will never believe in it or even consider this lie to be anywhere close to the truth.

To many people out there are blinded by this lie.

Humans did not come from gorillas. I don't know about you, but I have a higher opinion of myself.

Agree?

(A dog is conditioned to salivate on hearing a bell, for example).

Does it make us kind of 'robotic'?

I know I used the word 'stupid', but please don't lay into me for it; was using it to make a point. :-)

What are your views?

ie, why didn't God just say ok, my son doens't have to die for you, I hereby change the rules and declare anyone who beleives in me is saved, I'll spare my son the crucifixion because I make all the rules and I hereby declare that it is not necessary for my son to die to save believers.

The questions: 1) Was God able to do that? 2) What would have happened if he had? 3) Why didn't he?

Childrens beliefs and conduct are dramatically shaped by their teachers and the culture around them. 70 % of young adults -believe that homosexuals should be allowed to marry! , 89% of american children attend public schools,, getting an education that by law , must be secular! So are you surprised at the statistics? two thirds of children say they are familiar with the teachings of religion, yet 52% do not believe that Jesus was the son of God, theey do no believe that Satan exist! Facts tell us that religion has enormous potential for loewering the risks associated with drugs, killing , teen sex, and the involvement of homosexuality as a way of life! This is anl alarming trend of unparalled moral and sspiritual decay! Solution??

Why is it I work so hard for any thing and everything in my life and then it all gets taken away?? The good things in my life never seem to last long, but the bad always does. Is Christ mad at me? Does he hate me? Have I disapointed Him in some way? Is it because I stopped going to church? Just when things are going so good I hit a brick wall, again.
