It would seem to me that my aforementioned question and your answers to it (mostly) support the reasoning that the Catholic Church is worshipping and praying to sinners, who are now burning in hell. I would think that Martyrdom, being wonderfully renamed suicide, is cause for hellburning. Why worship someone who was suicidal in their beliefs? Better yet, why didnt their beliefs save them? It seems God doesnt pay up until after we die. Could this just be a clever plan to make us all commit suicide so god can rule over the earth and eat all of our ice cream?

Please, I have tried to post in languages, but with no success. If you speak/read spanish, I just had a bizarre discussion with someone in spanish and have no idea what was said except on my part...
I am dead serious. Please read and let me know what this person wants. They are very insistant about something as all night I have been buzzed by them and cannot ignore. I am even on as invisible to everyone, but with no success.

Seems to me that it doesnt matter what we pray for.....
A job, a car, endurance, patience, accpetance, etc, God has the job of answering that prayer....it either comes to pass or not depending on Gods will.....since our prayers cannot influence Gods decision, why bother praying?

I have some Seventh Day Adventist relatives who if you ask me are in a cult. They just act weird. For one thing, they always seem to attack other religions, especially Catholic. They seem to hate the Pope as well. If they are soo confident and happy in their religion, why are they always attacking other religions? This is a clear sign of a cult. One thing that also is weird is that if their against people looking up to the pope, why do they worship this woman Ellen White? It's also weird that they seem to keep their worship of her a secret. They will spend hours bashing the Pope, but will never mention their worship of Ellen unless you happen to already know about it and bring it up to them. Their also pretty tricky, they'll be your friend, and try to get close, but eventually they will make an attempt to try and convert you. Either they will try to do something in person, or one day you will get a letter in the mail, or an email from them, telling you about their GOOD NEWS.

The world is more than 6,000 years old (carbon dating). Science cannot explain God out of existence (what were the laws of physics prior to the Big Bang)

I am tired now, and apologize for the bluntness of this last post, but the Bible isn't the inspired word of God. We are the inspired words of God, and none of us are mentioned anywhere in the Bible. As for non-believers, to suggest that science and logic dispel any myth of God is incomplete (to put it nicely). Who here knows all that science can tell us? Quantum theory tells us, in a nutshell, that we can make very good guesses based on very good odds about things, but also that there's always a chance.

We don't even know who the authors are. Most of the new testiment was written by ghost writers. The first generation of Christians didn't see any need for a permanent written record of the sayings and stories of Jesus. Jesus' return and the restoration of the Kingdom of God on earth were imminent--why bother preserving stories if the world was about to end? Stories were simply passed along orally, primarily as a means of preaching and convincing outsiders. But as the first generation began to die off and hopes for the Second Coming dimmed, there was a need to preserve Jesus' words and deeds for posterity

that there are three treasures to hold and protect daily. they are moderation, compassion, and humility. Many people i have spoken with say that these qualities are ingrained into their conscience. we understand that many people in these times can not tell the difference between their conscience and their ego, but why would these qualities be ingrained in many of us, when ethics and values change through the times?

I'm an ex muslim and I believe myself to be christian now but have not yet joined any denomination as I don't know which one is the right for me (which means I am not yet baptised). I firmly disbelieve in trinity theory. Perhaps that's why JW attracts me (and as only this denomination I know in Mauritius so far which disbelieve in trinity as well).

What can you advice me? Will the bible course from the JW help me to decide whether I should join them or not?

I was raised pentecostal and had a very good time of it...however I have come to the conclusion of late that I cannot really believe in any god, one way or another.
At the same time, as I read someone's harsh remarks about christianity etc, I feel compelled to defend like I always have...
Do you think there should be something of an AA for converting christians? Don't laugh, I am serious.
I find it hard to stick to my guns on the issue one way or another without actively debating it with someone who sees things the way I have come to see them.
Do you think that religion is an addiction, like smoking, drinking, drugs etc?
If one decided they do not believe in all of the hoopla anymore, should they seek support the way you would for other addictions?

He is always the one to help me sleep well at night. However, tonight I am finding it impossible to get any rest. I have an important interview tomorrow morning! Does He think this is funny? Putting me to sleep all these other nights with great ease and then abandoing me on the ONE night that it is TRUELY neccessary for me to get rest? Is this funny to Him? Or does He just truely not care?
