You know how some people go on about homosexuality being a choice (I don't believe it is). What if the characteristics of intolerance, bigotry and arrogance are genetic traits, and people are born that way, and don't have the ability to change?

The apple on the tree sits in the light and dark and gets ripe, is picked and eaten or falls to the ground and is eaten. Either way the apple ripens and disapears. Could you say a few words? Thanks. ~ : )

What do ya'll think of pentecostal people?

I grew up devoutly Catholic but now am having problems accepting the Catholic belief systems. I accept homosexuality, am pro-choice, believe in pre-maritial sex, and will use birth control. I know those four things are against the Catholic church's thinking and so I wonder if I can truly be a good catholic. I rarely go to Church because I feel like it doesn't mean as much if I'm going out of habit. I do believe I live a very good and just life though and am overall a good person. I go to church when I feel like it versus doing it out of obligation. Church services do mean a lot to me.

So with that, I respect the Catholic Church and but have found that I have problems believing everything. Can I still consider myself Catholic with these beliefs? I'm sure there are many people out there who believe the same thing and consider themselves Catholic. How do you balance your beliefs with those of the Church?

I believe very strongly in God. I also believe I have come to know him through personal experiences with him, and my experience is nothing like that which is written about in the Bible

So, I believe in God, but I don't believe in the Bible (at least not verbatim, many stories to make a point, 'fables'). Does that mean no one agrees with me? Or does everyone agree with some of what I'm saying? Am I a 'bi'religious (attracted to both sides)?

Just an FYI, all you crazy zealots: I have 12 years of Catholic education under my belt. Before you ask me if I read the Bible, consider I may know it better than you, enough that I see it for what it actually is...

I was talking to a science teacher a few months back. He was teaching a biology class, and we got on the subject of evolution verses creation. I told him I believed in creation, that God created everything in 6 days, and created man in His image. I told him it's better than what he's teaching his students, that everything evolved from a rock. He said that's crazy, I don't teach that life evolved from a rock. So I asked him, where did life evolve from? He said it evolved from a one cell amoeba. Then I asked him, where did the one cell amoeba come from? He said the one cell amoeba came from the primordial soup. So then I asked him where did the primordial soup come from? He said it rained on the rocks for millions of years.............he stopped talking, and just stood there thinking. He realized he did believe that life evolved from a rock. This the Athiest call science.

Does anyone here believe that this is a stupid theory, or do you believe God Created?

Christ the Wisdom and Power of God
18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written:
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."[a]

20Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

I am seriously considering becoming atheist. This is not meant to mock you in the least. For a while now, I have been a materialistic Deist- the only thing I believe in that can't be proven by empirical evidence is a passive Creator. One who created the universe and now does not intervene. Now I am considering shedding even this beleif. But their is only one thing that stands in my way- that is the question of the origin of the Universe, and that which lay within, the building blocks; energy and matter. I do believe this is the lasthurdle that stands between me and atheism. Can you help me?

I am asleep, then I open my eyes to pure darkness suddenly my eyes adjust, how? I have no clue because I am lying in a coffin, I can see the satin lining of the coffin lid, I feel as I am suffocating, but then to my surprise I can breath, and then I am above my grave looking up at a full moon the night air is crisp. Then from afar I can hear soft singing, like a chorus, but the music is not sad it is joyful...I have this dream on a nightly basis it is so sensory filled, I can smell the grave dirt, feel the grass and the dew upon my skin...What do you think besides the fact that I may be crazy?

Everyone has high and low periods in their lives. Average those out.

Most folks tend to recall mostly the good times or mostly the bad, depending on temperament. Try to be honest with yourself.

We tend to look at material wealth, security, status or wisdom and assume we must be happier because we've attained this. Question whether this is really so.

Is happiness truly dualistic? That is, do we always experience about the same happiness because it's defined by our experience of unhappiness? (Light defined by the darkness) Do we always find ourselves standing at the center of our own self defined polarity regardless of what we do or do not accomplish?

I think it speaks volumes of the material that is emphasized in the gospel, and that which is ignored.

"Critics of the bill say it would have a chilling effect on clergy who preach against homosexual behavior.

"We believe that this legislation will criminalize our freedom of speech and our ability to preach the gospel," said Bishop Harry Jackson of Hope Christian Church in Lanham, Maryland.

Supporters disagree. The bill, they say, applies only to violent crime and, in fact, specifically addresses freedom-of-speech issues.

"Nothing in this Act, or the amendments made by this Act, shall be construed to prohibit any expressive conduct protected from legal prohibition by, or any activities protected by the free speech or free exercise clauses of, the First Amendment to the Constitution," the bill says."

I don't believe in gravity. Anyone who believes in gravity is unintelligent. Have you ever seen gravity? Have you ever taken a picture of it? No only things falling. None of you that believe in gravity know what your talking about because it is unobservable. Each object or anything that is attracted to another object by some invisible force is just running into the other object by chance.

See how stupid this sounds? Come off it already with this "God is dead nonsense. He is observable, and in order for him to be observable you have to base the tests off of the claims made.

How about this one.
If God exists then there will be observably predictable and repeatable events on planet earth. This will mean intelligence caused intelligence, the evidence is predictable weather patterns, predictable orbits, predictable behavior in humans. repeatable patterns of galaxies. patterns everywhere. How can so many complex patterns be the symptom of mere chance?
