I believe very strongly in God. I also believe I have come to know him through personal experiences with him, and my experience is nothing like that which is written about in the Bible

So, I believe in God, but I don't believe in the Bible (at least not verbatim, many stories to make a point, 'fables'). Does that mean no one agrees with me? Or does everyone agree with some of what I'm saying? Am I a 'bi'religious (attracted to both sides)?

Just an FYI, all you crazy zealots: I have 12 years of Catholic education under my belt. Before you ask me if I read the Bible, consider I may know it better than you, enough that I see it for what it actually is...

I believe in God. I love what Jesus taught. I'm not christian or muslim. I don't believe in most of the bible.
Whether or not Jesus taught love, peace, understanding, and tolerance- that's what I follow.

Not going to go into this in terms of my views, but if you get National Geographic Channel there's some great documentaries on this, which explore various possible ways of interpreting the bible. For example looking at Revelations it talks about how it may have been a coded message for early Christians rather then a prophecy of things to come, worded the way it was to avoid persecution by the Romans. In addition, humans not god wrote the bible hundreds of years after the fact, and it's been translated a number of times (try this- translate some text a few times into different languages and see how messed up it gets) so it's possible things got messed up. Definatly check out the National Geographic though.

I believe in God but don't believe in the Bible as being accurate (at least not the way it is anymore).

Sometimes I think it is abou the concept of God. Some ppl have different concepts of God. Sometimes an atheist can tell me they don't believe in God...then I have to ask them what their concept of God is because I very well might not believe in that concept of God either.

Keep searching, keep learning, there are other God worshipping faiths out there. I know Islam gets a bad rap but it's not what a lot of ppl think. There is Judaism too but their books make up part of the bible so I guess you would say no to that. There are others though...

You are not bireligious. You are a monotheist who has yet to find his path to worshipping the creator. Remember God always and keep searching....keep searching...

I don't understand how you believe in Him, but not what His Word? since the Holy Bible, is the inspired Word of God, why is your relationship with Him nothing like that which is in the Bible and everyone else's? If you don't believe in the Bible, which contains testimony of many, including His Own testimony of His Son, who sits at the very Right Hand of God, who is in the Father and the Father in Him, as Jesus testified, that He & the Father are One, then neither do you believe in the Father or the Son, nor do you know Him.

You cannot seperate God from His Word. You can reject it, and He still loves you and does things for you, but according to you, God is a liar. If the truth were in you, you would know Him and recognize Him in His Own Word. As they are Life & and they are spirit to those who love Him.

Everyones' had experiences, God sends rain and sunshine on the just as well as the unjust, but if you knew Him, truly knew Him,you would not attack others, as you would have & His Love for others would be inside your heart for other believers.

If you have been reading the Bible then you should know that it is the inspired word of God. Yes there are times when I read it and I’m just doing it out of obedience, but other times, when I read it with a heart that is seeking to know more about the one I love (Jesus Christ) then it always seems that there is something that speaks to my soul. I think that when we read the Bible we must pray that God would use it to speak to us and then read it with an open heart and mind. And I mean no disrespect, but anyone can believe strongly in God the true test is if you will obey Him.

Even the deamons believe there is a God in heaven, however it si thoset that act upon the faith in their behalf to be save that will be glad to see the comming Judgement day.
If you do not believe in the Bible, I do not see how you beilive in God. The Bible is God's words and and you believe very strongly in God, I would think you would belive very strongly in the Bible. To put it into Biblical veiws, you are lukewarm, you believe in the one true God, however you do not act upon it or read about it enough to turley let him influence you. Also there are some things about the 'other side' that may seem like they are comming from God, however they are not. Just like a wolf in sheeps clothing they can come in and do all the moves, make it seem like it is comming from God, however it is not. I would test it. After the apostles left the earth, such radicle miracles like the laying on of hands, bringing the dead to life, blind can see, and things like that were to fade away. A man who believes when there are no signs to be seen has greater faith than those that see and belive. A house devided is unable to stand. If you belive in God, than you shoudl also believe in his son Jesus Christ and see that his actions correspond with all the prohesies given and that he fullfill all those that describe him.
You can believe in two different faiths, or more if you wish, however if you wish to go to heaven, chose the one that counts the most (Christianity, not Catholisism) and follow his teachings. If you believe very strongly in God, you should also believe very strongly in Christ.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
K.K.

12 years of the Catholic church is a pretty good brainwashing. I'm a Christian and I left the Catholic church behind in my teen years. Those people are confused. Heck, they don't even have Bibles in the pews. What's up with that? And telling your sins to some dude? Why? God already knows what I've done and if I'm sorry for it.

The only way to know God is through personal experience and it is different for each of us.

I, too, believe in God but not as he is portrayed (or interpreted) in the Bible. Much of the Bible is profound, but only if the correct interpretation is gleened.

"Bi-religious" is the middle road and the best one to travel.

Many people believe in god without assimilating the beliefs of one particular religion. Some are simply "spiritual". One path that theologians are taking more and more these days is deism, the belief in and only in a god, which fits theological arguments much more nicely.

What you call "God" others may call someone else--some people (at least one who's answered this question before me right here) would take offense at you DARING (sarcasm intended) to refer to the object of your belief by the same name, but those are the same kind of idiots who think "Allah" is a false god, even though "Allah" is just "God" in another language.

You shouldn't be looking for people to agree with your faith. Faith should be personal, and you should be proud that at least your believe system is unique to you, as it should be. Don't worry about those organized religions and whether they 'match up'--they're just concerned with converting people so that they'll come to church and put money in the collection plate.
