it could be for the future if after Christ's 1,000 year reign in the 'new earth' and the destruction of evil, when we have eternal life and we finish 'filling the earth' YHWH will give us the technology needed to reach another planet prepared by Him to sustain human life.

we must wait and see

agape!

All scientist know is

* Its called "Gliese 581 c"

* Its 20.5 lightyears away from Earth, that's 190 trillion kilometres from Earth.

* that it possibly has the same temperature range as earth.

*It orbits a reed Dwarf star. Also, it is within the habitible zone for that type of star.

*Its 50% bigger than earth, so it has twice the force of gravity as earth

The temperature range can support water...

However.

To say that this planet has water, or even an atmosphere is shear and utter speculation.

To say that it can support life is also speculation by a long shot.

To say that there is life on that planet is just plain imaginitive.

They made a big deal about this on the news because it is the first rocky, terrestrial planet that they have discovered outside of our Solar system.

All other 228 extrasolar planets that they have found have been gas giants... like Saturns and Jupiters... some even much larger.

This planet is #229 that they have found so far.

It's probably a large version of mars. In my opinion and in logical assumption.

Its probably not like Earth at all, no more than mars is.

Yes indeed. Anything in the universe created by Him.

Although some people might think that the universe is created by nature, we should think further than that. Nature is a process (methods of doing things). A process must be controlled and who do you think going to create and control such a complicated process? From small particles to a place where we can live in. He must be a very superior being which we call God.

this planet took billions of years to create he didn't just throw it out there. It has billions of plant and animals and he has worked tirelessly to find enough good people to fill it with righteous people.
So when he destroys the wicked it will be the job of those left to clean it up and show how beautiful it can be.
If we do or when we do go to other planets it will be only after we show we can be good studarts of this one.

It is most likely lifeless...

If one uses Earth as a criterion...

That planet does not meet enough of the requirements to sustain life...

i just want to say that just because a planet doesn't have the same makeup as ours doens't mean it can't support life.

all it means is that it can't suppor the same kind of lifeforms that are on this planet. why can't there be life out there that doesn't need air to breathe and water to drink?
