There are lots of jokes with God, Jesus included that preachers even use in their sermons. The rule is that our Holy God is respected. Most Christians enjoy clean jokes and especially jokes about heaven and such. But, always it is a joke on human nature, or St. Peter, or religion........not being irreverent to God or Jesus.

Yoiu can make jokes to your fellow humans but not concerning God because God prohibits making jokes out of him. It is a sign to no respect to God.
for your enlightenment here is the verse.
Rom 9:20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

This question troubles me too because I do not want to offend such a great purpose in life. However, I understand that it is a strong basis and can take the occasional joke. I judge it by the need to laugh and be comfortable.

You know, I think God has a sense of humor. He gave us the ability to laugh. He made laughter feel good. With that in mind, God certainly would not mind some good clean fun at his expense.

Jokes are fine. I was so surprised when I heard a joke in my church the first time. I have a Lutheran church background and I did not hear my pastor joking ever from the pulpit.
My current church's pastors relate jokes to sermons, so I think that is fine. : )

I reckon that IF God made man (and woman) in His image, then he would have included a sense of humour, yep...including profanity and sexuality. The God that is all-seeing, all-knowing, etc would have to have a sense of humour, and the God who is to be FEARED, with people talking in whispers for fear he might "strike them down" for laughing or having enjoyment in their lives...is not really a good God, is it (sorry, He.....or HER?)

Joking is fine,I love to have fun kidding around....the context of the joke when involving God would have to be judged by the individual involved as to wheather it would be appropriate.
Good question

As long as you don't mean it. Jokes are jokes. They dont mean to hurt anyone, the reason for jokes is to laugh and have fun. There definitely is line you can cross, but for the most part i think its fine.

I think it's OK as long as its clean. I know quite a few. And honestly, God HAS to have a sense of humour.
