What sin has a newborn baby committed?

Or, for the pro-lifers who believe that a fertilized egg is a person, what sin has an aborted or miscarried fertilized egg committed?

What about one who's profoundly mentally retarded?

Sin is violation of God's Word. All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.

Redemption is through repentance, baptism in Jesus Name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost

See Acts 2:38

sin is an act of disobeying God.

the fact that we are born sinners results in the fact that we all sin. notice the progression in romans 5:12: sin entered the world through adam, death follows sin, death comes to all people, all people sin because they inherit sin from adam. thankfully, Jesus Christ is the savior from sin

"Sin" is disobedience of God; another definition is rebellion against His rule as King, sovereign, and Creator. Thus, yes, all humans sin. Every human begins by disobeying. You might have noticed how one never needs to teach a toddler how to say "No." They seem to learn that one very easily. The next 18 years are spent teaching the kid how to say "Yes."
