can you put this in your own words?

if a man is floating down the stream in a boat and he is suddenly bumped into by another boat with another man in it, he may get upset and shout or threaten and insult the other man.

yet if the same man was bumped into by an empty boat he would look up and have very little reaction to this situation. empty your own boat.

So why there are wars, poverty, hunger ?
Not to offend anyone, but most major wars were started and involved Christians ( i.e. civil war in US, WWI and II, The Crusades, 100 yr war, etc.)

Accoriding Revelations 3:15-16 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. What makes a Christian hot, cold, or lukewarm?

There is a lot of evidence for evolution. Whether you believe it occured naturally or a higher being got the ball rolling that's up to you, but to try to discredit evolution as a way to try to get people to believe in god by default isn't the way to go.

I think many people have heard the statement that goes something like, "Prayer is the request by a self-declaredly unworthy person that the laws of physics be changed for him." Of course I know that's only one flavor of prayer. I know many people see prayer as merely a communication with God. Sometimes they hope for insight and others they just want to say hi and thanks etc. But why pray for someone? Do you think you'll convince God to reach out in a way he wouldn't have before? In my opinion, an all-knowing God wouldn't need such a reminder, and a lowly human wouldn't be able to influence his infinite wisdom. Do you think it has a direct effect on the person? Is it just a way of expression of compassion with no real goal, like giving your condolences? Or is it something else entirely? This is just something I've never understood.

Responses only from people who actually pray, please.

For those of you that know something about him, what do you remember best? For those of you that don't, he was an awesome man of God....he was a very unorthodox, untrained, uneducated plumber that preached in such an awesome fashion. In his meetings, there were healings and when he prayed for the dead they came back to life.

I do.

There is even historical evidence for all of the stories. Scientists found a boat on top of a mountain in Asia and they are certain this is the Noah's ark. They found twin cities that were destroyed and these are Sodom and Gomorrah. Also, there is a cave outside of the city that showed signs of people once living in it. This is Lot's cave. You also have a salt mound outside the city from when his wife was turn into salt.

But those with true faith don't need any evidence whatsoever.

You're supposed to believe it regardless of the physical evidence because God will give you a feeling that will let you know that it's all true.

Do you believe?

The Bible says that Moses was the greatest man who ever lived, that you can only receive salvation through him, and that Jesus was merely the second incarnation of the jealous spirit of Elijah. So why do Christians simply take Paul's word for it that Jesus was so important?

God could have eliminated Lucifer, but how would everyone have reacted, would they have been fearful and would that be consistent with the character of God?
He could have punished Lucifer immediately, but would that be consistent with His character when He allows the opportunity for repentence?
He could prove Lucifer's claims were false. Do you think that is what is going on with the human experiment?

The mass of the Earth is calculated at 6x10^24kg. The tallest mountain is Mt. Everest at 29,000feet (roughly 5 miles), so if Genesis is true, we were covered with an additional 5 miles of vertical waters above our heads. With the added mass of the Earth, our orbit around the sun would have changed. Why does the bible not account for this? 5 miles of water is quite heavy and would account for a significant increase in the Earths mass. Just imagine where you are and having 4-5 miles of water above your head. That’s a lot of weight!!!

There is much evidence against biological macroevolution. Some of Darwin’s evidence used to support evolution is now refuted because of more modern scientific evidence. One fact is that body parts or entities could not have evolved gradually. Michael Behe discovered that cells were irreducibly complex. They needed every single chemical and part to function. Consequently, they could not have gradually evolved. Another evidence was the complete lack of transitional forms in the fossil record.

We have not been able to create life from non-life regardless of how hard we have tried. We have not been able to create one species from another even with human intervention. The things that have been used as examples of evolution either have supported microevolution or have been hoaxes, frauds, or have used artistic license to extrapolate conclusions without justification.

However, the best evidences against macroevolution and hence the very best evidence for creationism, is the unimaginable complexity and machine-like workings of a single cell including DNA, RNA, and the manufacture of proteins, etc. None of this was known during Darwin’s time. They thought the cell was a simple blob of protoplasm. The human genome contains so much information it would fill libraries if contained in books. The machine-like workings of a cell have been related to our most sophisticated factories. Nobody would ever suggest that random processes could generate libraries of information or make a manufacturing plant. This favors creationism.

Is it true or are they rewriting history to fit their beliefs?
