"No man can by any means redeem his brother
Or give to God a ransom for him--
For the redemption of his soul is costly,
And he should cease trying forever--
That he should live on eternally,
That he should not undergo decay."
Psalm 49:7-9 NASB

That would profit him nothing. It would be a most foolish thing to do, to gain 100 trillion dollars worth of goods, plus power and prestige, then die in 80 or 100 years and be suffering for all eternity, when 100 years will be only a drop in the ocean. One must fear God, and understand His authority over your soul. This is the (rhetorical) question that Jesus asks in the Bible.

A person who has died cannot possess anyhing so he has wasted time and effort on nothing of lasting value.....However, if we build up treasures in heaven, Jehovah never forgets us and he will resurrect us and we will live again--a treasure beyond anything on this earth.
