The USSR was hostile to all forms of religion, which was "opium to the masses" according to Karl Marx.

Was it because of atheism or was it because of something else?

Just wondering?
Malachi 3:10 - 11.
No Christian in their right mind would ever challenge or test God, but on this one He insists that we test Him and He promises blessings so plentiful, that you can hardly receive them.
I could give testimony, but I would rather hear yours.

What is God trying to do by burning you eternally? "Punishing our sins" isn't good enough because how will you know which sin you committed (according to the Bible we are all born sinful...so i guess babies that die in third world countries instantly go to hell).
Secondly, what's to gain from making people believe in Christianity? If the universe is endless, I'm sure you have room to fit 6 billion people it.

Note: I hope you guys don't engage in a secular vs. Christianity battle by giving thumbs down with everyone you don't agree with.

Ever since I saw that stupid episode on the History Channel I can't stop thinking about it! It said that the Mayans predicted that in 2012 December 21 the end of the world will come and it will be God's judgment day. Now I keep telling myself "This is NOT true, it's just going to be another day" because I know that ONLY GOD knows when the end will come. I know that NO ONE can know, not even Jesus knows. JUST GOD. But, what spooks me out is that the Mayans predicted lots of other events that came true! (ex. wars, and stuff). So how can I just STOP worrying about it?! I'm scared because I am only 14 years old and 2012 is only 6 YEARS away! I keep thinking "wow, I will never be able to experience life and neither will my sister" (who is only 6). And PLUS, I don't want to LIVE THROUGH the "end". I don't want this to happen in my lifetime. I don't want to see the whole entire Earth blow up in front of my eyes (you know what I mean). And I'm scared of pain. Death itself. I have so many drms

Did you know that technically, in Islam, when practiced a woman has far more rights than a man? He is not allowed to do with his money as he pleases, but she is She has the right to work, but he must work. When she bears children, they must obey her first and in the event of divorce she gets first right to custody, while the father comes fourth in line after all maternal nominees are exahausted. This site is excellent. She doesn't even have ot cook or clean as evidenced by the hadith in the paragraph about a husband's attitude.

What's that you say? WOmen don't live like that? Gee, no S H L T Sherlock, it's because they follow screwed up woman hating culture and ignore Islam, while calling their culture Islam. Read the link. It explains much of it.

While this world contains evil and sin, one might argue that God's glory would not be so clearly displayed without the cross, the forgiveness of sins, and by showing his wrath against sin. Others would argue that sin and evil detract from God's glory. They would say that the world that would bring God the most glory would be a world without sin. What do you think?

I recently posted a question in the religion and spirituality section about ministries for gay and lesbian Catholics. I received some helpful responses, but also some which reflect a misunderstanding of my question. So here's my new question: If a person is homosexual, but remains celibate, how is that a problem...even for people who believe that homosexual actions are sinful? I don't understand why after stating that I am not sexually active, I still get responses that say things like "God is not happy with you." I'd like some serious answers here. I'd like to know how, in any way, it would be logical to state that a person not acting on a sexual attraction could possibly be sinning. For the record, I know that I am not in a state of sin...and in fact I am following exactly what the Catholic Church teaches...but I would like to know how those who disagree with me justify their belief on this, because it just doesn't make sense to me.

We will all have the duty and joy of worshiping God, but aside from that, what will our purpose be, and how will we spend our time? I do believe that we will continue to pursue knowledge of the universe and of God, in His vastness. What else is there?

In Genesis 1:11 herb bearing seeds are compared to fruit trees. Some of you are going to hate my interpretation of this, especially my fellow Mormons, but marijuana is an herb bearing seed.

Also the Word Of Wisdom which is essentially a health code for Mormons says that all wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature and use of man. LOL.

If you saw even one person who you don't even know suffering in front of you, you would be compelled to stop whatever you were doing and help them. Considering that the suffering in hell is much worse, and woulld probably include many of your friends and relatives who don't believe, why wouldn't you feel guilty about not droping your life/personal desires and spending almost every waking moment trying to save souls.

To Atheist: In your terms, let's say Heaven does exist for a second, and how would it be in your point of view. Be nice and don't do the usual "No God no Heaven" atheist drama, kay? :)

Sometimes I even wonder, being an atheist is by default stating that one doesn't believe God or Heaven or Hell, and yet they insist on that they don't. It's like saying "Hi! I'm a baker. I bake."

Anyways, what would your Heaven be like?

When I say the worst 10% I just mean the radical minority which causes unnecessary misery on the world.

Often people see radical Islam as the worst religion in the world. Yet hasn’t the Pope and the Catholic faith in its most devote form caused even greater hardship on the world.

Everyone is aware the problems associated with extremist Islam today but are you aware of the Catholic atrocities.

In Africa the Catholic faith is responsible for much of the Aids epidemic. They deny Africa access to contraceptives such as condoms which would save millions of lives.

Because of the Catholic control over Africa, millions more are born unwanted because the church view birth control and abortions as murder.

Is it not better to die as either sperm or a fetus than live a life of misery and torture? If birth rates in catholic states like Nigeria were lower GDP per capita would rise. Africa would be happier but because of the Vatican and a minority of catholics millions suffer.

In other words, religion is an industry and believers are consumers. As consumers, they can be and are manipulated to buy more dogma just as consumers are manipulated with advertising. Benny Hinn seems to have a good grasp on this concept.

She grew up without very much
She didn't know who her father was
She met a boy and her heart he stole
So she gave him all her body and her sole

She's not ready to face
The outcome of their mistake
It's brought her nothing but pain
And she's too young for this fate

She's alone
Caught up in the undertow
Where it takes her no one knows
That's how it goes
That's how it goes
When we throw stones

People denied and criticized
They sent her away isolated
Caught in a bad dream, her plea rejected
They left her alone and neglected

They put her out on display
Showcasing all her mistakes
She's worn out and she's afraid.
Why does it always happen this way?

She's alone
Caught up in the undertow
Where it takes her no one knows
That's how it goes
That's how it goes
When we throw stones

If you don`t believe, then keep all the anger and frustration to your self.
Whatever you say about Him does not affect Him a single bit, He remains on His throne, Glorified and Praised.
But it surely offends me and many people like me...........
Please keep your disbelief to your self and stop using jokes and disrespectful words for God, The AlMighty.
He is High above all the falsehood you say about Him. Save yourself from Fire while you are still alive.... cos when death comes then you won`t be able to act or believe.

I ask this because I have seen people put more emphasis on their tomes than on their God.

Also, Why do people worship prophets whenever they are supposed to only worship God?

To those that say they don't worship a prophet, then why do you pray to them when you are only supposed to pray to God?
