Did you know that technically, in Islam, when practiced a woman has far more rights than a man? He is not allowed to do with his money as he pleases, but she is She has the right to work, but he must work. When she bears children, they must obey her first and in the event of divorce she gets first right to custody, while the father comes fourth in line after all maternal nominees are exahausted. This site is excellent. She doesn't even have ot cook or clean as evidenced by the hadith in the paragraph about a husband's attitude.

Most Western societies have claimed to be "Christian" and have seldom followed the precepts of Christianity. Why should we be surprised that Islamic countries do not follow real Islam?

For every person you see around you who is making sacrifices and going out of her way to follow what Jesus said, you can see a hundred who will use and misuse the Bible to justify greed, irresponsibility, and cruelty. Why is anyone surprised when Muslims do this?

The Bible has been used by professing Christians to justify wife-beating, child-beating, child labor, denying women the vote, slavery, segregation, and war -- just as the Koran has been used. For every verse in the Koran that advocates death to infidels, there is a verse in the Bible that advocates death to everyone not of God's Own Tribe.

Either Christianity is a vile religion that should be condemned -- or Islam is not.

I say, hold individuals responsible for what individuals do, and don't let anyone hide behind ANY version of God. Or any version of society, either!

I find this very interesting. Poeple think that Muslim women have very little rights; they think that all Muslim men want to do is beat up their wives and treat them disrespectfully. Islam offers many rights for women, and makes sure that women are respected and cared for.

Sweet heart, those are regular human rights that no religion should dictate. Islam gets no special points for letting women have their kids, working, cooking or cleaning. But they do get points deducted for the rules they have to follow or face hell for. Stupid simple things like SHOWING YOUR HAIR.. I cant believe you dont see that as completely insane, or the specific way you have to obey your husband.. Im sure it has alot to do with the woman hating culture, but it has nothing to do with ignoring Islam.

Why do you ask this, when so many petition for the clemency of teenagers about to be executed in Iran? A woman killed a man who was trying to rape her. The woman was a young girl. She's on death row as we speak. Tell me about this marvelous thing again?
