Catholics support the human dignity of all people (heterosexual and homosexual).
Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.
The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.
The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."
With love in Christ.

1) Some Roman Catholic priests are pedophiles. Anyone who has any common sense understands that that is completely different than homosexuality.
2) The Church does not condone the *act* of homosexuality. It is not against homosexuals.
3) To engage in an act that you know the Church and God are opposed to would be considered a mortal sin.
4) So the question would go back to you. Do you support mortal sin? Is that okay?
EDIT:
How is what I *just* said a complete contrast to what you said!? Paid lay minister my butt.

It does not matter what denomination you are in to make your decision.
No. It is not okay to be a Roman Catholic.
and No. It is not okay to support Homosexuality.
I'm not going to waste your time with a long page telling why it is not okay to be a Roman Catholic. Simply check your faith with the Bible. I will however spend a little time on the Homosexuality part.
Is it okay to support Homosexuality?
I have nothing against Homosexuals. I will shake their hands with respect and treat them like everybody else. Many that I come accross in my life time are wonderful people.
God loves the sinner; but, hates the sin. God loves the Homosexuals; but, hates homosexuality.
Many FORMER Homosexuals can testify to what I'm saying. Yes!! F.O.R.M.E.R Homosexuals, now living and preaching for Christ!! We must not underestimate the POWER of the Gospel for those who really believe.
Christ takes us as we are; but, none of us will go to heaven as we are. A homosexual can enter any church building he so pleases and sit anywhere in the congregation; but, he can not enter any pulpit at all. He can be a regular visitor in the church. He can be greeted with friendly smiles and even have friends there; but, he can not become an official member of any Christian church that calls herself a Christian church. Don't be surprise that I say this, the rule is not just for homosexuals; but for all who wants to be a follower of Christ. Any Bible believing Christian who takes the Bible seriously, will be outraged by what has been going on in the anglican church and many others.
To make homosexuals feel comfortable in their sin is a sin.
There are too many other things I can say, but let me leave you with at least too clear passages from the Holy Bible that many homosexuals know but ignore to the peril of their souls while standing behind the SACRED pulpit. Read Genesis chapter 19. Read Romans chapter 1 verses 25 to 27. AND OTHER PLACES OF THE BIBLE AS WELL.
For the Christian: Tradition does not have the last word.
The minister does not have the last word. The president of the USA does not have the last word. The percentage of the voters does not have the last word. Your personal feelings does not have the last word. The homosexual does not even have the last word.
GOD has the last word. And His word is not far from us that we can't find it or know it.
We just choose not to believe that He means what He says.

I have known more than two priests who are homosexual by their actions, voice and their acts (I just have not seen any acts that would prove them sinning). They are all popular in their sermons on Sunday masses. All of them are always invited to give talks and seminars about community services and spiritual commitments.
If these are priests who can serve the church, then there is nothing wrong in supporting the right to exist among homosexuals.

According to the Cathechism you are suppose to support homosexuals read paragraphs 2357-2359
no where in there does it say being homosexual is a sin, it disagrees with the acts and asks for chastity (as all unmarried people are) but does no condemn homosexual feelings or desires or view them as a sin.
Also it does not say "hate" the sin, you are called never to judge by it (it is not your place).
Pull my finger (above) it is obvious you don;t actually know the Catholic faith.
EDIT: reading the answers as a Catholic Church religious educator and minister (yes they have paid lay ministers) I am appauld (as usual) how people have no idea what the Catholic Church actually teaches.(including apparent RCIA graduates)

That all depends on what you mean when you say "support homosexuality".
If by that you mean supporting a homosexual in their battle to remain chaste, then yes - you should support a homosexual's battle to live a chaste life.
If, however, you are speaking of supporting a homosexual's lifestyle, that is to say - endorsing homosexual sex, same-sex marriage, and all that, then the answer is no.
We must remember to hate the sin, not the sinner. Merely being a homosexual is not a sin. However, homosexual acts are sinful.
We should effort to make clear - to EVERYONE - that the Church is not anti-homosexuality. It is anti-homosexual ACTIVITY.
We're all called to chastity, not just those with tendencies towards same-sex attraction.

According to church teachings, hate the sin and love the sinner. By that they mean that a person who has homosexual tendencies is not a sinner or evil. The error comes in acting out sexually outside of marriage. The teaching is the same for heterosexual couples who engage in sex outside of marriage. So, as long as a person does not engage in the activity, the tendency is not sinful

Catholic church does not consider the homosexual orientation as sinful. They do consider homosexual behavior as sinful.
They have support groups to help people with the homosexual orientation that try to live a pure life/

I am straight, and used to be Roman Catholic, so I would say no. That's along the same lines in supporting abortion, science, and working on Sundays. Oh and Birth Control too.

I am a Roman Catholic. I do not judge anyone. And for those who dare to say I am not a Christian...always think to yourself...what if my son/daughter told me he/she was gay?
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?? Turn your back on your child?
Think about that one.
