LDS Hymn "Praise to the Man"
1. Praise to the man who communed with Jehovah!
Jesus anointed that Prophet and Seer.
Blessed to open the last dispensation,
Kings shall extol him, and nations revere.
[Chorus]
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.
2. Praise to his mem’ry, he died as a martyr;
Honored and blest be his ever great name!
Long shall his blood, which was shed by assassins,
Plead unto heav’n while the earth lauds his fame.
3. Great is his glory and endless his priesthood.
Ever and ever the keys he will hold.
Faithful and true, he will enter his kingdom,
Crowned in the midst of the prophets of old.
4. Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven;
Earth must atone for the blood of that man.
Wake up the world for the conflict of justice.
Millions shall know “Brother Joseph” again.

I thought only God could accept praise. TM

Medieval manuscripts tell us that Adam's first wife Lillith was killed by God because she refused to obey Adam. Do Christian women always obey their men?

I have been a firm believer in the Lord for some time, but have just started dating someone of a different faith. This has lead me to question the Bible and some of the things that do not add up.
I say, "Do not question the Lord.", but my girl says, "You should question everything......its how we gain knowledge."

I can't seem to find a good answer to this. Its bothering me that i feel like she has the upper hand.

How do I answer her, when she seems so logical???

About two miles from my house there is a house with a white Christian looking cross on it and in the yard there is a wooden cross with wooden decorative knobs. There are no signs marking it as a church. On some Sundays (nice weather) people go there for services in the yard. The men that live in the house always wear black sometimes with a white shirt. Sometimes they wear long black robes and they all have beards. They look very much like Orthodox Jews but there is a cross on the house and in the yard. I once saw a woman also dressed in black. On her head was a round black boxlike hat with a black habit coming down the back and sides you could not see her hair. Her dress was long and black with white embroidery on it. My neighbors think they are Russian Orthodox or something similar. It seems they are too small of a group to have a church so they just meet at the leader's home. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

My husband has asked, upon his death, that on his tombstone I have "Game Over" engraved.

Should I comply or do something more respectful… he won't see it anyway?

Lets face it, although some Athiests are very intelligent, often the most radicle, seem to wear blinders and filter anything that does not fit their little objective world out. I am not pointing this question at ALL Athiests, only those whose goal is to convert others to there way of thinking. I am sure I too wear rose colored glasses, however, I see no evidence to disprove the possibility of God. Therefore, I am glad to have faith. So, is radicle Athieisim a religion in itself? One of blinders and denial?

I'm looking for a good list of mistranslations/loosely translated Bible passages, both from Greek and Hebrew, and of the New Testament and Old Testament.

I swear I'm going to nominate this for a drinking question.

The Treaty of Tripoli 1798 CLEARLY states "the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion"

This was written during George Washington's administration, was unanimously voted in by the second Congress
(no absences, no one abstained) during Adam's administration.. it was published in the two major newspapers of the time without even so much as a letter to the editor in protest. Do we get it yet?

I like my Creator provided Spirituality that comes from America. I am sure the Aborigines and other people world wide would rather stick to their own spirituality. Why do the two most populous religions feel it is something they need to spread to others? Is it fear and denial?

I would list all of the inaccuracies, but I can not fit them all into a thousand characters or less (which is Yahoo! Answer's limit). And I would hate to leave any of them out.

--In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said: "Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again." (Luke 6:30, repeated in Matthew 5:42) Try asking Christians for their houses and possessions, and see how faithful they are to the teachings of Jesus. Borrow a Christian's car and see if they ever ask for it back. Modern believers know that Jesus was wrong and the bible is not to be taken literally.

I asked this question earlier, and got a few bible quotes quotes... Do these people not know how to read either?

Can you prove to me, that there is a god and a heaven without using the bible> Some poor lady said that the answer was all around me, and that I started as a seed in my mother's womb. Gee, is that as good as it gets?

Meaning the worship mary and they change the Sabbath to Sunday.

All I do anymore is cough. And I seem to do fine as long as I lie around and don't do anything but the minute I move ---- there it goes again!
And I hate to go and disturb people and there are elderly there and others that may be afraid of catching something.. ( I don't even know if I have anything to catch)
But on the other hand I wonder if it is unfair to NOT go to church. For example, if I have to go somewhere I do. I just take my cough drops with me. And if I cough I cough. Tomorrow my daughter has a Dr appt and I fully intend to go with her. Am I being fair to God or the ppl in the church?

BTW, yes I have been to the Dr and she thinks it is either allergies or asthma. so far none of the meds I've taken have worked.
