I like my Creator provided Spirituality that comes from America. I am sure the Aborigines and other people world wide would rather stick to their own spirituality. Why do the two most populous religions feel it is something they need to spread to others? Is it fear and denial?

Native Americans or the Americans as Columbus called us FIRST, have been here 40,000 years, our spirituality is much older then the two most populous religions. Indios, he said were like Adam and Eve before killing us in front of Spanish priests...... Also that we were children of nature, and the most kind and humble people he ever seen........

My Grandfather had three wives and was born in 1880. We did not have the same sort of prudishnes in that area. The wives were free to leave anytime, and free to explore as well!

Native Americans have a covenant with God just like the Jews. I am going to keep it, though other religions are interesting, God provided us with OUR OWN religion.

God has not intended that anyone be any piticular religion! This difference in religious beliefs is all man made mumbo, jumbo! People have got to start realizing that it is man the has himself created all this stupid stuff. The result of which has been fighting and bloodshed for thousands of years, because each one thinks theirs is the right path and all others are going you know where. I have read some about American Indian spirituality and personally I think that it has more going for it than the christian, muslim, Jewish, or all the other junk thats out there. They all like to spread there own beliefs because the more people on there side, makes their egos bigger and they feel more powerful. Religion is all about control!

First of all, to my knowledge, the most populous religion is not Christianity or Islam, but Buddhism (think China).

To answer your question, people have different beliefs because people are free to choose what they believe. People in different circumstances are also likely to choose a belief different from someone in another circumstance.

I do think the European Christians and Arab Muslims have made/are making a huge mistake in trying to coerce or force people to convert. This doesn't create true heart converts. I believe that people have the right to share their religious and spiritual beliefs with others with the hope of conversion. I also believe that: 1) different cultures have something valuable, even essential, to offer to the practices of faith, even the Christian or Muslim faith, and 2) people need to distinguish between what is religious/spiritual and what is cultural.

For example, there is nothing essentially Christian about the wedding ring, although it's perfectly permissible, and explainable in Christian terms ("love never fails", like an unending, continuing circle). In the same way, there is nothing anti-Christian about the Native American wedding practice of blending white and yellow corn as a symbol of blending two lives, and two Native American Christians should have no problem blending corn at their wedding if they want to. This practice could also be explained in Christian terms ("the two becoming one").

No, Christians and Muslims believe that they have a "Great Commission" from God to spread their faiths. Buddhists,Bahais and some other religions have also been missionary. If God intende that all people be muslim or Christian ,He surely would have made it possible that every single person would be reached with all the facts and the grace to accept about the true faith but perhaps the majority of the world's people know little or nothing accurate about Christianity or Islam, let alone accurate knowledge to make a choise among the many competing sects of those religions.

1. God (any God) had not intended that all humans be one or another. I don't see it. If God wants uniformity it is not easier to make all white or black or whatever?. It must be his intention to make us different.
2. It is easier to understand each other if we are on same page. I think that's why any religion seek for new believers. What is unknown makes you feel fear or unconfortable, so we must have a common ground at a large scale in order to understand strangers. It is a human nature not realy a religious issue.

BTW, the occidental civilization doesnt understand well any eastern one, even now. "How come a japanese worker goes to work in a strike day? I dont get it"

You have to remember that from the beginning of time man has always sought God. There were differences of opinions on trivial matters and they would separate and make a new religion. When Jesus was walking on earth there were many different religions at that time Sadducee's, Pharisees, essence es, just to mention a few. They differed in small areas and so were formed different religions. As history went on many men would form their own religion, Joseph Smith, Mohammed, Buddah, Moon,Jim Jones and so on. It is up to man to search the truth out. Not all religions are correct. The Bible is Gods word to man, but it seems according to many others God changes his mind quit a bit on the plan of salvation.. I suggest we search out the word of God.There are many different religions because man isn't happy with the ones that are. Also because man wants to make the rules.

I am a Christian. I have asked myself this question and I do not know the full answer. The Bible does say I am to spread the word. It also says that those who never hear about God are not guilty for not knowing him.
Christianity was around long before America ever was. Might want to read up on your history.

God doesnt want anyone to be muslim or go their own way, He wants you to acknowledge Him. There are missionaries everywhere and when there are none to teach them about God, God judges them with the law that He plants in their hearts to know the difference between right and wrong because He is fair. God loves us. Jesus told us there would be false preachers and teachers and that the road to hell is BROAD , most will travel the broad road following false ways or their own ways.

I am a Christian, but I believe Mohammed was inspired by God to bring about the most ammount of truth that his people were willing to accept. Mohammed brought many better things to his people. He took what was once rampant polygamy and established 'four' as being the maximum ammount of wives a man could have. Still, I believe the Christian teaching of 'one man and wife wife' to me a much more superior truth, and more correctly the aim of God, and there are many I believe who share this same feeling to an extreme, where the thought of a man having more than one wife is very sad.

I once heard a wife of a polygamist marriage in Morman Utah say after she had escaped her community "I know they would want more if they just knew what was out there". She said this in reference to the girls who were still in the bonds of polygamous marriage.

Read the stories up to and including the TOWER OF BABBLE. That should do it. Good luck. By the way, spirituality has nothing to do with religion. Nothing personal, just philosophical. Good luck once again.

If there is a god, who intended the same thing for ALL humans of so many different tounges and cultures, it would be embedded within our DNA and it would be an unmistakable urge. Not a conscious choice based on stupidity and lack of effort.
