I have been a firm believer in the Lord for some time, but have just started dating someone of a different faith. This has lead me to question the Bible and some of the things that do not add up.
I say, "Do not question the Lord.", but my girl says, "You should question everything......its how we gain knowledge."

I can't seem to find a good answer to this. Its bothering me that i feel like she has the upper hand.

How do I answer her, when she seems so logical???

consider this verse:
"14Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."
17"Therefore come out from them
and be separate, says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you."
18"I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." "
II Corinthians 6:14-18

or this one:

33Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character." 34Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.

I Corinthians 15:33-34

or this one of many incidents in the Old Testament:

23 Moreover, in those days I saw men of Judah who had married women from Ashdod, Ammon and Moab. 24 Half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod or the language of one of the other peoples, and did not know how to speak the language of Judah. 25 I rebuked them and called curses down on them. I beat some of the men and pulled out their hair. I made them take an oath in God's name and said: "You are not to give your daughters in marriage to their sons, nor are you to take their daughters in marriage for your sons or for yourselves. 26 Was it not because of marriages like these that Solomon king of Israel sinned? Among the many nations there was no king like him. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel, but even he was led into sin by foreign women. 27 Must we hear now that you too are doing all this terrible wickedness and are being unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women?"

Nehemiah 13:23-27

Sounds like you are on a slippery slope.
Make up your mind what matters more to you, God, or a pretty face.

I think it is bothering you that deep down you know she is right! It really is not because you feel like she has the upper hand! You yourself said she seems logical, and i asume you are a logical person. you sound like you are. So just go with it, start questioning things. You can search for the secrets of life together, it will be fun and there is nothing like gaining enlightenment!

She does have the upper hand. Even the Bible backs her up. :-)

1 THESSALONIANS 5:21
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

However, don't throw something away because there are unanswered questions. The Bible does contain the word of God. As you bring your life into harmony with its teachings, the questions will be answered.

How can we question the Creator of everything? The bible is His inspired word..we either believe and have faith in those things unseen or we do not. Satan wants us to doubt..but we either love God enough to stand firm, or we don't. Satan is working overtime now to win all the believers to himself..and he is doing it in such sneaky ways too..using peoples love for each other to use one against another. In the bible it says that people will leave their families for their faith..and this is already happening all over the world. Satan seems logical too sir...maybe you are going to have to ask your g/f to not discuss this with you any more. The bible also speaks of being unequally yoked....that always causes contention.
People back in the OT times were able to see the burning bush etc etc etc..and there was no way they could dispute God..but many did..and they had proof in front of them. When Jesus did all the things He did, there were people who walked and talked with Him that saw all this yet doubted He was the Messiah....the bible said that blessed are those who believe yet do not see......don't lose your faith..noone has come up with anything better than our Creator, that gives us so much hope etc etc.
If you want to question God..talk to Him..He always answers prayers in His time and in His way..and He knows we all have questions..and all of those will be answered after this life is over.

Do not question the Bible but what men are teaching you the Bible says. She is right in that sense. You need to have questions to gain knowledge. By having questions about the Bible you are not challenging God but are looking for the correct answers. When it says not to question the Lord it means when he tells you to do what is right for you, you don't ask why...you accept that he knows what is best for you.

Did not the 12 apostles question Jesus? Is not the only stupid question the one that is not asked? Do you really believe that God would want a bunch of mindless zombies walking around? If you have questions or she brings something up that makes you wonder, you should investigate it and come to your own conclusion. Just because you research something that she may bring up, does not mean it will change what you think. (But it might.) Religion is a state of mind and varies from one to another. Most people also follow what was taught to them instead of what they feel. You should follow your heart and your mind. If you do not want to question anything about your belief, you should tell her how you feel and leave religious discussion out of the picture all together.

I really understand what you are going through because it happened to me too.
What I finally decided is that I wasn't "Questioning the Lord" I was starting to "Question what I thought of the Lord".The most eye-opening thing to me was to figure out that just because I always thought God thought a certain way didn't mean that is was really what He thought.
My faith was questioned. Not in God but in my perception of God. God is the same today-tomorrow-and forever. I am stupid most of the time! Thank God he gets that and knew that about me before I ever showed up on earth.! AND loved me in spite of it!

She sounds like a slight control freak. Part of religion is the beautiful thing called Faith. What that means is that not everything has to have an anwer. God works his wonders in ways we can not see, why? because if we knew his secrets then the mystery of God wouldn't be so precious.

Beleive in what feels right for you, do not try to conform regardless of how "logical" she sounds. I wish you the best.

Everything has been questioned, repeatedly, and never has been disproved with the Holy Bible. Really even to this day, from its origins, and long after you and your girls are long since dead and not a trace of memory to anyone the Holy Bible will still be here and there will be others questioning it.

If you can't answer her then you need to do some More questioning - yes you should always question everything - how else do you become truly enlightened - blind faith is for non thinkers. it';s too easy... - you are standing on the edge of a great opportunity - You're luck to have found someone who will challenge you to grow - have fun and enjoy your journey

God says, "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" (2 Cor 6:15)

Should you question your faith? Should you tell her to stop trying to get you to question your faith? That all depends on what you believe is the right thing to do. I knew what the right thing for me to do was, back when I questioned the Bible, but it may not be the right thing for you to do.
