I met a man who is a christian and who loves to help others and when I asked him if he was a Christian he said no but I am Christ like what is the difference between the two?

He does not practice a Christian religion, most of which demand that adherents conform to a certain dogma in order to be considered that type of Christian, and in order to be "saved." Therefore, he is not "Christian."
He does, however, appreciate the words and ways of Christ and emulates Christ in his own words and ways. Therefore, he is "Christ-like."
As far as I can tell, he is not claiming to BE Christ, only to be LIKE Christ--which, by the way, is what most Christian religions ask their adherents to strive for.

Christ is the Son of God. A Christian is someone who believes in Christ for salvation. The man you talked to may have been a good man and liked to help others, but you can't go around saying you're Christ Himself.

He is not a Christian, no matter how Christ-like he perceives himself to be.
A Christian would "confess with his mouth and believe in his heart" that Jesus Christ is Lord. A Christian would never want to minimize or dilute that fact in any way. Trust me on this.

He doesnt follow a religion, he follows God and one can be Christ like and not have a religion. I led my life that way for many years
